Hi all...making inquiries about a remap.First port of call is the insurance. Adrian Flux has given me an "estimated quote" of £695.
I,m only paying £335 now and wondered what quotes you guys have..
Oh I'm 46...full no claims..no points basically whiter than white..
p.s morebhp.com £250 for a map giving 260bhp

i would personally go with the likes the better known mappers
-
Hey Gulf
i know there are exception's in life, but in general you get what you pay for in life.
The main mappers invest big time in there products and you cant go wrong much with the big 3.
I personally wouldn't put a unproven map on my beloved.

try custom code mate , great value remap that works brilliantly , no settings to mess with or alter just loads more smiles per miles :happy2:

I know what you guys are saying.. I read their review over on UKMKIV,s..They had a Q&A kinda thing and said a lot of R&D went into the maps.Had some pretty good feedback and the guys use all the latest equipment..My nephew used them on his polo GTI and he rates them. I dont want to start a debate on who,s map,I,ll probably end up with Revo anyways. But the insurance??????
What are you guys paying?.I want to ring AF armed with some figures.

You don't mention the postcode district for what youare being quoted on - it does sound high, but this could be to the postcode region. I would suggest you get quotes from Greenlight (I know it is a sister company, but worth a go) and Chris Knott. For what it is worth I am paying a lot less for Stage 2+ - all mods declared.

you would usually pay a % increase based on power.
I went with Chris Knott for an APR stage 1 remap on an Edition 30 , I quoted 30% increase power , so that was the loading.
but as Dom says you will generally save for a std car moving to a 'specialist' so that counteracts it a bit.
good on you for being 'legit' too :happy2:

Not being legit is not an option in my book. :happy2:

As you probably have guessed mine is mildly mapped :innocent:
ALL my mods declared with 350bhp as the stated power. £520 with Adrian Flux. Only £250 excess.
I'm 44 and also whiter than white with full no claims and no points. Plus I don't live that far away from you

OK Guys,thanks for your help..
Chris Knott...thats the guy I could,nt think of.He used to sponsor us at Jeep events and remember him been quite good.
I,m going to ring em and quote a % increase not bhp figures, does,nt make it sound so bad.I reckon Flux just quoted that figure from the air, they said ring back.
