Title: Air Filters
Post by: mlr55 on August 06, 2009, 07:47:54 pm
Hey everyone,

I have a mk5 Golf GTI DSG and my only complaint (and its a very small one!) is that I want to 'hear' more from the engine so I was wondering which is the best induction system for the car for both sound and what little performance I would gain? Also what options do I have with the DV valve?

Any replies would be welcome, Thanks Martin :popcornsoda:

Hello mate,

I have heard the Evoms is a good system and sounds rather good indeed! I am sure Hurdy can confirm or deny this as he has one I believe.

There is also a very nice looking Forge system. I think Jonnyc has one so you could ask him what it sounds like?

I have the Carbonio and it is very quiet indeed so avoid if sound is important to you!

No doubt someone will be along soon to add to the list!

Cheers

....

A Warm Welcome to the forum, Martin! :drinking:

The latest Forge intake is relatively expensive but claims good results. The EVOMS is the noisiest by reputation.

Aftermarket engine mounts help transfer the subtle sound of the Carbonio - But beware the slippery slope of modding!!

Forge offer a DV but the latest VW one is supposed to be good (at last!).

HTH :happy2:
