Title: Computer/techy people...A qiuck question.
Post by: Bane on May 22, 2013, 06:52:12 pm
I have a wireless printer and a WiFi BB router.
To access the printer,I have to disconnect from the router.
Is it possible to have both connected thru Wifi at the same time to my laptop?
Cheers!

Depends how the printer is set up.
Normally you attach the printer via WiFi to your Wireless Router and then you can print to that printer as if it were on your LAN.

Which printer do you have? Which router? There may be specifics.

Generally speaking, wifi printers work through the router, so there may be something you've missed out along the way.

It's an HP Deskjet F4580.
It's wireless enabled as long as the wireless button is pressed and is flashing blue.It sits in the spare room about six metres from the living room.
I guess I might have to take into the living room and connect it to the router, that way I would have a permanent connection to it instead of doing the whole disconnect from wifi router and then connect to the printer's wifi signal?

Okay so it sounds like it should connect directly to the router:

Find the setup CD and walk yourself through it.
