Hi I'm Jonny

Been looking for a good Mk5 Golf forum for a while now, found this site earlier in the week and the content and banter seems good so thought i'd join.

Car history is Mk1 Focus RS for 3.5 years, followed by an Astra Mk5 888 for 10 months then got my Golf. Miss the RS big style, didn't gel with the 888 and love the Golf  :happy2:

Bought my Mk5 GT170 back at the end of November 2012 - had a bit of bad luck with the DPF blocking up after 2 weeks then the clutch and fly wheel going the following month  :sad:

Combated all this with a stage 2 remap and DPF delete at ADS Preston and had a replacement clutch and flywheel fitted. Next up was fitting some coilovers, BBS CH reps, rear lower GTi bumper followed by a carbon GTI rep spoiler. Next mod will be honey comb front grills. This isn't going to be a GTi rep, more a car that i'll keep modding until it's how I want it to look  :smiley: Haven't yet touched the paint work on the car, hopefully over the summer I'll be able to get my DAS-6 at it.

welcome to the forum..Love the ford rs but not the fuel  consumption thou.Looks a good tidy golf  you got

Loved my RS, was modded and running 290bhp with 336lbft - must admit its nice to have an economical car now though, plus it still has a bit of poke when needed!

Nice Rims are they the 18" BBS CH's ?

Yeah they are 18" CH reps mate, picked them up off a lad in glasgow with a kurb mark on one of the wheels then prepped them myself and painted them a metallic silver colour :happy2: have always liked CH's!

Its already mapped mate, was done by ADS Preston in December and has a Miltek DPF delete pipe  :happy2:

One of the best mods yet!!
