Title: PCV Valve issue...
Post by: Samu on May 26, 2013, 10:06:50 am
Hi all,

Just got back from being away for 4 weeks, my GTI sounds pretty rough when idling.
I've pulled the dipstick with the car running and the engine noise gets worse.

Would I be right in saying the PCV valve could be the issue?

Any other ideas on what it may be?

Thanks.

Pretty sure from reading that when you pull the oil stick out and the noise gets worse the PCV system is working?

^^^^ That's right.  Running rough when dipstick out = PCV is fine although you may as well change it for the latest revision if your concerned.

OP, try changing your Coilpacks, may be the cause.
