Title: removing aircon rad for better cooling
Post by: flatout on May 26, 2013, 08:43:02 pm
Ive just swapped my intercooler and was wondering if anybodys removed there aircon rad to get more air to intercooler, just seems a bit restrictive thats all been sat infront on the intercooler,i know air would flow through the aircon rad but would you see much difference if it was removed so the intercooler was getting `clean air`and getting the full benefit out of an uprated intercooler,so does it actually restrict air.?

has anybody done this and noticed any difference..surely more air would be better for the intercooler.

I just bought a standalone FMIC and made custom piping for it to sit at the front of everything.. Not sure if it is any better, but as you say, I don't see how it is worse than the standard fitting with it all crammed in together!

Run it via boost pressure with a by-pass activation button. ;)

right thanks for that,i never use my aircon so may aswel take the rad off and then fit a waterspray for maximum benefit.
