Hi guys, not sure if this is due to my version of maps or something.
But the way u search for places and is just numbing.
You have to enter so many details to just get to one place and even then my road dosnt exist!!
why cant u just type in the post code and then select or enter the address.
my sat nav basicaly is not usuable atm
any 1 have this problem?

You can...
Click postcode, enter postcode, click street, enter street then click start.
Job done..

i have no postcode option, only option is to enter the longest address possible. starting with the country lol
-
You can get the software/firmware or wahtever its called upgraded to give you postcodes , someone will be on soon to tell you how :happy2:

-

when i click address i have to start with country etc. postcode dosnt exist atm
-
Well they are V9 maps.
I have the same firmware and map version as you and I don't need to do anything other than press Nav, input postcode and say start.
-
Yep, secret menu, have a look.
-
hmmmmm, do u think i have a foreign version or something?
-
Normal maps are East and West Europe. If it has the UK on it then it must be West Europe.
Are the maps installed on the HDD?
-
active map coverage says west europe.
and how do i tell if its on the hdd?
-
Does it still have the map DVD in?
If so eject it and re-insert it. It should then prompt you to save to HDD or not. Just leave it to do it's thing after that.
-
not had any map cd at any point, bought this from ebay and fitted the other day
-
Whereabouts are you? Is there maybe someone close by that could have a look for you with an RNS510?
-
romford in essex
-
When you go to the Nav menu are you presented with Address POI Map/GPS options?
If you click Address it should lead you onto the next screen where you just click straight onto City/P.Cd and enter the postcode. No need to start from the top box (country) and work your way down.
-
Do you get the below picture when you click to enter the address? Just click on City/P.Cd as mentioned above and ignore the rest:
