Post by: jamiew on May 28, 2013, 09:47:27 am
Hi guys, not sure if this is due to my version of maps or something.

But the way u search for places and is just numbing.

You have to enter so many details to just get to one place and even then my road dosnt exist!!

why cant u just type in the post code and then select or enter the address.

my sat nav basicaly is not usuable atm

Well they are V9 maps.

I have the same firmware and map version as you and I don't need to do anything other than press Nav, input postcode and say start.

Normal maps are East and West Europe. If it has the UK on it then it must be West Europe.

Are the maps installed on the HDD?

Does it still have the map DVD in?

If so eject it and re-insert it. It should then prompt you to save to HDD or not. Just leave it to do it's thing after that.

When you go to the Nav menu are you presented with Address POI Map/GPS options?

If you click Address it should lead you onto the next screen where you just click straight onto City/P.Cd and enter the postcode. No need to start from the top box (country) and work your way down.

Do you get the below picture when you click to enter the address? Just click on City/P.Cd as mentioned above and ignore the rest:
