Title: Error Code - Lambda sensor but what's up?
Post by: john87 on May 30, 2013, 09:54:44 am
Driving home from work yesterday, the engine management light casually decided to come on (with no side effects) and my first thought was that it would be caused by the fact I have a 200 cell cat fitted (albeit with a lambda spacer) and a stage 1 map.

However when I got home and got my mate to scan it with his snap-on tool, I received a message similar to the following:

'Oxygen O2 sensor low voltage (bank 1 sensor 2)'

I understand that this is the post-cat sensor, but not the error code you would get as a result of a nackered cat.. seems more related to a problem with the sensor.

I had the fault cleared, and it hasn't came back since.. however has anyone else had experience of this?

Don't you need stage 2map?

No, not exactly... by fitting the lambda spacer, you take the probe directly out of the gas flow, but still allow it some exposure. I fitted mines 6 months ago and never had a cat failure warning since  :happy2:
