Title: Badgeless grill - Bonnet modification
Post by: Megy_ED30 on May 30, 2013, 05:05:39 pm
Hi all,

A couple of weeks ago i got a badgeless grill for my Ed30, looking to fit it in the next couple of weeks when work is going to allow it.

One question though, the standard grill has a raised bit around the VW badge with the required cut out in the bonnet to allow for this, obviously with the badgeless grill there is no need for the raised portion of the grill.  what are peoples views on the gap left on the bonnet and should it really be filled, if so, whats the best method of doing this?

cheers in the hope of some answers.

normally the grill comes with a special blanking plate that mounts to bonnet and fits the hole

best way would be to have a piece welded in otherwise its just going to crack over time do it right the first time and save money in the long run ,

Please pay attention to the mod of the hood in the following video.

Half an inch "bad boy" and the result is amazing.

My next mod...
