Can you go and take a photograph of the gear shifters, located on top of the gearbox in the engine bay? An aerial shot will be perfect, like the pic below. Ignore my writing...
It seems that mine is different to the others, with regard to the clips used.

not sure what mine is but that is exactly the same. all i did to remove the side shift was pull it aside, slot a pair of long nose pliers behind it and lever it out
the bit below the gear shift wasnt even touched when i changed my gear shift to the forge one

Ahh ok Simon, so like me, you don't have a C clip on the shifter cable that sits Vertically? (on the right of the picture)
And on the pivot shaft (in the centre of the picture), like me, you don't have the C clip either?

That's the same as what mine was like but mine's all changed now to the early style metal side to side as that's what works with short shifters

So they changed it to my set-up for 08MY, then changed it back again afterwards?
