Hi guys, where could I get a set of bbs ch's?
Either genuine or good reps?
I've been looking for a couple of days but can't seem to find anything .
And what size would people recommend on a bagged mk5?
Thanks in advance
George

Press "post new topic" when you want to ask a question and "post new poll" when you want a poll.

They are al over the interweb. Have a look at Wheelbasealloys and rimstyle for a start. 18"are around £1100, 19" are around £1300 or the BBS CH-R's, cost about £200 more.
Have a look at the BBS VZ's, for sale on here for £610 for GJN_MOTORSPORT (link below), look VERY similar to the CH's. they are 18"x8" ET44, so a much better stance than standard and loads of room for a BBK too, win win.
Here you go......

I see these have already been highlighted to you in another thread.
With P Zero's fitted they're a steal.

I'm going to be "that guy" again and say did you look on Ebay? There reps and genuine on there.
Also on Edition38 - 17-18 wheels section there are some for sale there too.
http://www.edition38.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=498010
For example that guy above wants £650... with Yoko Paradas, hardly crap tyres..
There are plenty out there if you look bro.
As said VZs can be bought genuine for pretty cheap...
-
CheeRs mate.
No I haven't looked on eBay, but I've seen some people Running real nice reps.
I want a set with out tyres so I can put Abit of stretch on them.
-
Mine come from eBay :happy2:
-
Car audio security... Give Parm a shout...
Seen that they've jus put on a set on their Focus RS
-
I've got a set of 18's for sale with bad tyres , there reps good ones though , £350 there yours
-
Just looked on that site and couldn't find any ch's..
Pm'd :happy2:

What size do people recommend?

I'm having a simular problem, rang a few places over the last week, and they only sell staggered sets, ie 8.5 wide for the front and 9.5 for the rear, after looking at maxitrol's car there's not a chance the 9.5 won't fowl the arches.
-
What places did you ring? I'm looking for 8 fronts 8 rears, but the 9 rears have to be an et 45/50 to fit in my arch.
I'm finding it pretty difficult to find a set of ch's..
-
I'm running 18s in mine and I think it's perfect!

Oh really? I swear I'm retarded as I can't find any ha

BBS CH 026
19x8j ET50
Expect to pay about £800+ for a good straigh refurbed set and then about £600-£750 for decent 225/35/19 tyres

People run 8.5j et35 on golfs but i think this is too wide especially if youve got air bags.. they will catch as it slams down.
8j et50 is perfect

I was very lucky!! :pomppomp:
-
Oh, I was gonna order a brand new set 18x8.5..
Tuk customs said they'd fit as when I go all down on my air the top of the rear wheels go in.
-
depends on the offset but personally i think 8.5 is too wide on the mk5
-
The offset is 35 Mate.
-
^^^^ i think that's around 30mm extra poke over standard 18"x7.5" ET51 wheels on a Mk5. Hope your not lowered, rub a dub vdub dub!
-
Haha I'm on air mate..

8.5 works perfectly well on a Mk5. :happy2:
Ideal width IMO.
-
Even with an et 35?
That's the widths I was considering getting

My van wheels are 19x8.5j et35 with 235/35/19 tyres
Firstly the extra width of the wheel means really it needs a 245 section tyre (the 235 on mine leave alot of rim unprotected and im not keen on the look) which is expensive and will rub on the arches and is too wide for the mk5 platform really if you want it to drive nicely (although you fitted air so im guessing your not fussed about dynamic handling)
Secondly... I tried them on the golf and they stuck out too far for my liking at my ride height and although i obviously couldnt test... it looked very much as if going any lower than my 35mm lowering springs would cause lots of rubbing without some serious arch mods.
-
Okay thanks for that.
Think I'll leave them if its gonna cause me aggro

It certainly does!! So much so I can't find ANY 8.5J RS style wheels anywhere!! Really not happy, as might have to settle with 8J and push the offset down to get some poke :(
