Hi
I bought a 7P6 Bluetooth module on the forum last week to go with my version B RNS510.
I have cabled it all in but cannot get the phone function to work.
It displays "Mobile Telephone not inserted or connected".
I have a Mk5 with red highline so cannot use that to pair the phone as it is not supported with the 7P6.
The other strange thing is that I cannot connect to the Telephone module using VCDS.
Anyone have any ideas how I can get this working?

if your gateway is older than an L version it won't be able to access it with VCDS
i take it you have searched for it on your phone (ignition on)

Thanks for the prompt response Eddie. What would the members of this forum do without you :happy2:
Yep I searched on my phone (iPhone 4) but nothing was displayed.
Am I right in saying that if it was installed in a Mk6, I would normally setup the pairing on the highline?
I am now thinking that getting a 7P6 module was probably not me best option and I should have gone for one that worked with the Mk5 highline.
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry to but in I'm have no idea what your problem is but if you want to see your BT unit in the high line some company have just released a module to allow it to display and be controlled in the red high line.
Here is the eBay Number
321120212965
Really looks promising for lots of mk5 owners now

I have an RNS 510 led version c with a bt 7p6 rev g iirc and im using an iphone 4s and it works fine. It all pairs through te RNS but it does not display on the read highline (I only have midline so that didnt matter). The 7p6 is te older version of the 5k0 which works the same.
Eddie fitted mine (i think he said it was the 1st 7p6 he fitted) and had to change some coding/tick boxes with VCDS but I also had a new canbus fitted as I have an older car which would've suffered from battery drain which is why we probably never encounter your problem if your can is older than an L.

could be that the number of users is at the max and they need to be deleted before you can pair with it

Thanks for all your input.
Have plugged it all back into today and the unit is now discoverable. Once I worked out the pin (0000) it paired and works perfectly. Just got to run all the cabling now.
Still think I would like it to display on the highline so either that EBay unit or a Polar FIS look like a future purchase.
Thanks again for all your help. I would have been lost without all the help from this forum.
