So guys!
Out of curiosity, has anyone put an order down for a Mk7 GTI yet? Or planning on doing so?
Cheers,
:driver:

Thinking about it, but at £36k specced that is an awful lot of money!!
May wait until the used ones enter the market, but doubt it'd have spec.
Keen on the mk7 R a little more.

love the advert on the telly, would buy one tomorrow if I had money to burn

It's the running costs I found astonishingly good. £125 a year road tax, low insurance bracket and 47 combined MPG...on a GTI with 230 BHP and 350NM of Torque!? Incredible!

I ordered one a month and a half ago but still not got a build date. Ordering a bit of a shambles really as VW seem very disorganised.
It was the Performance Pack that made my mind up about the mk7 added to the fact it is properly specced from the factory unlike the mk6.
My mk6 cost about £32k new (I bought used as it was dealership sales manager's company car) and spec not much better than a £27k basic mk7!!!
I'm getting a bit fed up waiting for a build slot though as although I'm very reluctant to sell my mk6 which has been a truly excellent car I need to get the best financial return on it so not sure whether to hold tight and keep guaranteed part ex price or whether to sell sooner to maximise its value.

I'd be ordering one tomorrow if i had the spare cash.

I like the Mk 7, but I really like the look of the new Octavia VRS estate, and with the savings would probably choose that over the Gti
-
We had one parked outside of work today. Someone from VW was visiting our company. Candy White

I ordered mine mid April and it will be November before it arrives. Shambles from VW.
The VRS would probably be a much better bet!!!

7 months is pretty standard for a new VW performance model. Plenty of folk had to wait 12+ months for an R. I'm not saying its good, but could be worse.

It's not so much that, it's the random way VW just seem to be putting back early orders yet later ones are getting earlier build dates. There are many huge threads on this on golfgtiforum.co.uk
