yes mate bluefin stage 1 is a massive difference from stock. expect a reliable 235bhp 250Ibft torque from it. And believe me once you go back to tock it feels rubbish.

£50 notes to bluefin ontop of that and a down pipe and sports Cat will get you stage 2 on your car which is even more again. much smoother power delivery over a longer rev range. around 250bhp 270+Ibft torque.

Its not as aggressive or as torquey as REVO but it still is very good

The Bluefin is a big improvement over stock, I had Stage1 but recently upgraded to Stage 2, which is a lot smoother due to the power coming in lower down the rev range, you will need a full turbo back exhaust though, if you dont have this , just go for Stage1, you will not be disappointed !!!!!!

Rich..... :happy2:

you dont need a turbo back exhaust.

On the bluefin site it quotes a Sports down pipe and Cat is all that is required.

I have the bluefin stage 2 with 3" pipewerx Dp and 200 cell sports cat, with code red air intake and filter and stage 2 bluefin. Works fine.

I also have the autotech internals in the post now from JBS autodesigns so will be stage 2+ as soon as it arrives.

with the Cat back you will get a very very minimal power gain but ore noise. its the down pipe and Cat that gives the bigger power release. changing to one 200 cell cat instead of 2 cats as is on the OEM

what gear box is better?feel you no where you are with the manual?

my fuel economy has taken a hit but thats down to my driving, on a fuel economy motorway run at cruise controlld 80mph i get 36mpg, but that drops drastically when you press the loud pedal.

blueflame, piper, pipewerx, miltek all do down pipes for the mk5 platform. the piper and pipewerx are 3" i think the others are 2.75". might be quieter as well. ppipewerx were cheap as well have a look on ebay. they have a online shop, make sure you offer less than the stated price, i hear they are open to bartering.

I have manual, i love it now i have the short shifter. feels way better than std.

Revo has more adjustability than suerchips, you can change boost, timing, and fuel. provided you purchase SPS swich on top of the remap its also more aggressive torque wise.

bluefin can be installed by yourself from home though as can stage 2 and stage 2+, whereas revo you have to go to a specialist which means travel costs on top

I'm curious? What sort of differences can be expected driving wise between the REVO stage 1 and Bluefin stage 1? Do they differ greatly in relation to where the torque is delivered etc and does one map require the car to be thrashed more than the other? Its something I'd not really thought about and presumed that they all gave a similar driving experience/throttle response to the standard car , only with more, dare I say,  'va va voom' ?

they both give you about the same bhp increase but with revo you will get more torque. you dont need to thrash either though as with this engine and a remap you get a nice amount or torque lower down the rev range
