Title: Scott Aspect 650 mountain bike.
Post by: swgti on June 10, 2013, 10:30:51 am
Thinking of getting one of these through the ride to work scheme and wondered if anyone has got one or knows of anyone for some feedback on it? Pretty much a novice as far as mountain biking is concerned so only wanting to spend around £450 max to start with and see how i get on.

Any other recommendations for something else around the same price greatly appreciated too.

Always bought specialized in the past but bought a cube this time and very impressed.

You can use topcashback too if you order from leisure lakes.

If you are going to use it offroad then ok bike for that as a starter , SCOTT are very well made i think .

If you are going to ride it on the road then go for a Sportster , Mountain bikes on the road are naff .

Bike to work scheme is great and even better if you are 40% taxpayer .
Best to spend the maximum (£1000) i would say to get more off the actual price in real terms and also easier to sell a higher spec bike second hand if you were trading up  :innocent:

Living in the Eden Valley and with the lake district right on my doorstep means it'll see it's fair share of mountains but I'll also be doing quite a bit of road work but not massive distances and usually on the way to my off road location.

You get a better spec in a Cube bike for the same cash as Specialized.
