Title: Remap
Post by: ReeceH13 on June 11, 2013, 10:56:51 am
Hey all,

Thinking of going Stage 1 (R-tech)

I already have an ITG, any other hardware I should look to change/get to accomodate the map?

Depends on how much money you want to spend, but I would first check you have the latest revision Diverter Valve and your PCV is not failing.

After that your options are endless. HPFP, Uprated Intercooler, Turbo Back Exhuast Etc.

Ok cool, thanks

Yep latest DV and PCV is ok. Just wondered if just an CAI will be suffice to run a stage 1...

Great choice with R-Tech, Nick really knows his stuff.

For Stage 1 just a check is fine. PCV and DV as mentioned. Should see a healthy 250BHP plus a nice smooth liner graph. Will drive like a new car.

If want to, can do a pre cat removal (know the pre cat out before cat) still passes MOT and helps turbo spool up better, adds about another 5BHP for the price of a downpipe gasket.

With you induction will help also.

Let us know how you get on. I can't wait to book mine in with Nick  :driver:

Precat delete is well worth it to free up the exhaust a bit.  :happy2:

You've made the best choice with R-Tech  :drinking:

Brill, thank you all!

Yeah I have heard that Nick knows his stuff! Just want my car to pull like a train  4 Hour round trip will be worth it.

Pre cat delete not a bad shout I remember this thread now! Thanks. What MPG increase can I expect?

My Insurance, Admiral have agreed believe it or not to cover a remap, as long as it is less than a 25% power increase. Will a stage 1 be less than a 25% increase or more does anyone know? Not sure if the insurance take just the BHP or the Torque into account with this magic '25%'?!

Any help appreciated

What you get is down to your car's hardware  :happy2:

Will be around 25% though (ish).

Probs about 1-2mpg with pre-cat delete. The throttle response is greatly improved

Thanks mate, Have left a message for Nick to call me... Is there anything stopping them mapping the car at just under 25% increase do you think..... hmmm... Cos if its over 25% Admiral won't touch it with a barge pole, they aren't mod friendly!

Did you notice a increase with the R-tech on the 0-60?

Once you get your before map dyno run you can see what it's making, work out 25% and give Nick a max figure not to exceed. With TIV mapping he has total control of ECU so can do anything with the map  :happy2:

It makes a big difference with in-gear as well as through the range acceleration. You will not be disappointed

Brill thanks for this!

As long as the BHP don't go over 25% (50 BHP) Then Admiral will insure me, for ONLY £110 more (6 months of my policy left too!) So even if the car has lost some horses over the years, I can just get Nick to map it up to 250 BHP, everyone's a winner,  :pomppomp:

Can't wait to get this done!

This threads a good read, I've done all the checks with PCV and fitted a rev G DV and also a pipercross panel filter I'm just waiting for R-tech to get back to be I emailed them a week and a half ago now, I'm hoping to get a precat delete and mapped to if 250 hopefully and not too much torques which will destroy the clutch

Definately ring them up mate and keep trying until your booked in. Usually around a 3 or 4 week wait. I just had a custom stage 1 map with pre cat delete, cat back exhaust and pipercross filter. Made 205 bhp after the initial dyno run and 255 bhp after mapping

Got my car booked in to see Nick  Can't wait!

If he is as good as people say and his maps just as good, bring it on!

How much does he charge to reset the map if I were to sell my car (:scared:) as its a nightmare trying to get hold of them lol!

Pretty sure the upgrade cost is just the price difference between the 2 stages

How much did this cost if you don't mind me asking mate?  I'm looking at having the same.  PM me if you'd prefer.
