Had a new set of coilover brought ready to put on and had the suspension strut out but then realised the company i got my coilovers from sent out the wrong coilover size ended up getting 55mm strut as i needed the 50mm..... :sad1:

Hi
Welcome :happy2:, can you send them back to get the correct size?
-
Ive spoke to them and asked them if they can do that but they don't make a 50mm shock but he has gone to check. So either he can source a 50mm shock and i send back the 55mm, i send them back and get a full refund or worst case scenario i have to try and sell them and try and recoup what i have lost out on these. But i will keep you all informed if a nice set of coilovers will be coming up for sale...

Can we assume you don't have a gti??

All GTIs have 55mm hubs so no.
If your car is 50mm hubs, JOM make some adaptors which slide over the bottom of the coilover to take it from 50mm to 55mm. Worked perfectly well as I ran with them for a year.

But i think he needs to go from 55mm on the coilover down to 50mm on the hub.
What coilovers are they?
Someone on here might be intrested in buying them from you

They were Tein Street Advance. The quality and welding on the coilovers was very nice. Something different out from the normal i thought i would try them as i had not heard anybody who has had them on. Overall my conversation with Tein and customer service with them was very good apart from the mistake of this hub size which was not clarified from the start.
No worries, it is abit frustrating but mistakes like this can happen, just have to get the rear suspension taken apart as i had it all fit in the rears and was ready to fit fronts untill i hit the wall :sad1:.
If you guys are interested I would give Chris a Tein on 01908 632861. Im sure he would be able to help you. Make sure your strut is 55mm!!!...

Ahh, late night brain mis-understood. Yeah your best bet is to send them back and exchange for a set that are 50mm. :happy2:

They don't do a 50 mm strut so I now have to return them and will be getting a full refund.
