Title: Dash reset button not working

Hi,
Im new to this forum, Have just bought myself a mk5 2005 gti and the dash reset button for the trip is not working. I can reset the trip on the stalk but not the main mileage on the dash reset.
Any info or help would be great,

You have to hold the button in for about 2-3 seconds before it clears.

Yea I have tried all that. Still not working. Any other ideas?

Anyone else got any ideas?
Do i need to totally remove the speedo cluster to fix it?

You might have to. It sounds like the contact isn't working when the button is depressed.
