Title: Differences in Throttlebodies
Post by: scopes on June 13, 2013, 09:17:20 pm
Does anybody know, Is there any differences in Throttle bodies, between ED30, GTI, S3?

I would have thought they were all the same, just curious.
 :happy2:

Thanks
Neil

AFAIK they are identical

I agree but like everything in life I suspect the Audi one will be more expensive...

The standard TB has now been superseeded with a Q revision. I bought one from TPS not long ago for £360

Yes there is a larger tb that will fit. I have one on mine.

I noticed on stattlers FB page they are fitting a 75mm throttle body to their Ed30.

Inlet is 70mm.  The 70mm tb will bolt straight on in the original fixing points too.

Not according to Statllers.

"Will you run an adaptorplate for the throttle? I assume it's 70mm throttle body right?"
Statllers
"This is 75mm Jakey boy with adapter + meth jet "

I'm saying the 70mm tb that I do will bolt straight on.  I don't know what the 75mm is from or what the stepper motor is like for driveability. Will keep an eye on their page and see how they get on.

I've noticed better response with the larger tb. Can't really say if it's made a performance increase.

will it not be worthwhile to tweak the maps for a larger TB or is that within the ECUs limitations to adapt?
