Title: Can shell Nitro effect the Lambda sensor??
Post by: Homer on June 15, 2013, 12:49:51 pm
Hi folks recently I have been using the Shell Nitro V power instead of Tesco 99 and this light has started appearing-

So I started wondering whether the Nitro's new additives etc could effect the sensor??

Anyway I went to a garage and they have quoted £205 for a new sensor. Is that a reasonable price or too high? Thanks.

Unless the fuel was "contaminated" I wouldn't blame the Shell Nitro V power as I have no issues with using it.

I would be more than surprised if any Shell fuel could affect any sensors in any engine. They do a huge amount of testing on new fuels. Indeed all top producers do.
All I  noticed when I went to Nitro was a decrease in consumption. I now get 390 - 400 miles per tank. Used to get 370 - 380ish. Same journeys, day in day out.
