Title: Service due but what does my car need done?
Post by: rf860 on June 17, 2013, 10:05:05 pm: As title. Car is on 49k and is 5 years old. It's been serviced every year on the dot by the previous owner. The last service was done by the Arnold Clark I bought it from (I see this as a bad thing tbh).

Spoke to local vw today and they advised a fixed price service would be sufficient. They said this consists of oil change, oil filter, diagnostic check and visual check round the car. Is this all that needs done?? I kinda expected more to need done. Btw vw quoted 150 quid for the service - is this in line with what others have paid? Normally I wouldn't use the dealer but this seems reasonable and it's next door to work so very handy!

I think every service that's been done on this car has been a major one lol (apart for Arnold Clarks). The previous owner has been meticulous with the servicing so want to keep it that way. 150 not a bit steep for basically an oil and filter lol?

Where in the city is that? Are they any good?
