I've applied for tickets later in the series. I've been before and you're there all afternoon. It's very good and as you can imagine a fair amount can't be broadcast...!

X2
As for it being boring, I find some episodes are better than others. Safely say its better than a lot of the other drivel on tv these days
-
that place is down the road from where I live, 90mile beach rocks! just don't get stuck in the tide :signLOL:
-
the races are boring these days.
I however cant wait until VW bring out the feature to be able to play the noise of a Lamborghini through the speakers as i accelerate.
-
What happened to the blue car? I skipped to the end coz it was so dull.
-
He broke it :signLOL:
-
The sailing bit was a total waste of air time , their banter still makes me smile though.
-
It's an entertainment programme so it's a bit of fun and lucky for us it's got cars in it
-
How are people saying it was dull? It wasn't the "best" episode they have ever done but I wouldn't have called it boring. :driver:
-
Some of the episodes are so ridiculous im actually bored watching them. At least this was a good mix
-
The humour is very predictable and its like hearing the same joke time and time again . When TV becomes predictable it becomes boring , doing that sailing bit in New Zealand was not really funny or entertaining , bearing in mind how much it must have cost to do it . Jeremy crashing into walls and stuff was stupid .
-
I felt like he should have used a car that he could review at the same time? But was still amusing regardless
-
have to agree, got bored watching lots of it and found myself fast forwarding through it. Happens with quite few episodes in recent years i've found.
-

That Toyota Auris is a fairly new model (launched since the last series of Top Gear was aired) so there's no reason why they couldn't have given at least some sort of review. Instead they just trashed it for entertainments sake!
Also interesting that manufacturers are prepared to give them brand new cars to write off just to get some air time on BBC.
-
Pretty poor episode, I reckon. Still not as bad as the one where they were tarmacing a bit of road in the middle of the night, though...
-
As has been discussed many times before it is a motoring based entertainment programme.
If you don't like it turn over. :stupid:
-
I get the entertainment show rather than pure car fest, however it wasn't really that entertaining either. It was ok, there's far worse sh!te on. Next week will be better... How many episodes this season btw?

6 episodes this series :happy2:

Top Gear is like any long running series (now the 20th) not quite as good as it was in is hay day. Its must be difficult to invest all that time and money in something like sundays race and then when you edit the film you realise its not as good as it could have been.
I for one keep tuning in for the moments when it all comes together and its one of the few things on telly that genuinely makes me laugh out loud. For me top gear works when you have all three presenters together not just when its two, it just never quite jells for me, they need each other for the banter to work.

didn't realise we weren't allowed to voice opinions ;)
-
No one said you weren't
All that is being pointed out is that it as an entertainment program and if you don't like it then turn over. I find it funny that people will sit and say "yeah it's boring now" but then still watch it.
Maybe it's just me, but if something bores me i generally switch channel or find something else to do.
-
Its the nuggets of comedy genius that notwithstanding the fact that theyre getting rarer and rarer are very good when it comes together.
Getting the German Top Gear presenters to meet them at Goodwood and then doing a victory roll and parking next to them in a spitfire was just fookin hilarious, completely inappropiate in this modern age and long may it continue!!!!!!

I nearly spat my drink all over the TV when i watched that. I was crying laughing

Its BBC funded which makes it more important to the Masses to be Good :innocent:
-
Even though I know what to expect when Top Gear is on, the races they conduct seem to be getting very very tedious and it would seem they have decided to not even review the car they use now.. :stupid:
We all know that Top Gear has become an entertainment programme and not just for the motoring enthusiast. But for me they have gone too far with it now and seem to squeeze a car review in the first few minutes of the show so they can then spend the rest of it with the same races, stunts, jokes, interviews etc..
You just need to see how many actual cars do they test in a average series.. Not many.
-
Rachel Riley is a bit of a unit, pretty face.............. Like Holly Willoughby.........
As for the episode, it was OK, I enjoyed it, always enjoy watching James May Suffering lol.

That is the problem, though. People are watching wanting, nay, expecting to be entertained, but these 3 and their scripted frivolities hardly ever come up with the goods, do they?
I don't want to turn over, I want to watch Top Gear AND enjoy it and don't feel that is too much to ask!
-
TBH, I watch them all, even Dave re-runs, there are some quality episodes and some bloomers... but there's always a saving grace, last episode was Rachel Riley. :jumpmove:
-
The Top Gear boys were in Stratford last week dicking about on the Avon in there new "Hovervan"
Basically they have turned a transit van into a hovercraft!

Cue contribution from Red Robin (I hope)!

Haven't seen Red robin around these parts for some time. Was hoping for some scantly clad pic of Rachel Riley...
