Just wanted to say thanks to the peeps who advised me about getting a GTI that came from Ireland.
VW have agreed to change my ill fated mk5 GT, and I have decided to go back to petrol and get a GTI. They found one, but it had Irish plates on it. I questioned them about it, and they weren't sure if it was Irish or a cherished plate. Turns out the car had had a front end and was twisted!
It could be a coincidence, but I am glad I kept pestering them about checking!!
Now I am back to square one, with a mk5 which is now trying to go into limp mode and no replacement. They have agreed to take it in next week, and give me a loan car until a new one is found, but its all so frustrating. I just want to enjoying driving again :(
Until a mk6 GTI comes in, looks like I will be driving around in a Polo... or worse an Up!
Oh well :sad1:

Well if the up breaks down its easier to push than the GT!
Hope you keep at them as you've had some hassle off one car.

HA HA!! Very good point!!
I have spoken to VW HQ, who have said they will look into sourcing my new car for me too, and will contact me ASAP. I guess I will have to sit and wait, but do wish these dealers would learn to look outside the box!!

good to hear you followed the advice up, that could of been a worse car than the original. and lets hope the polo is more reliable.

Yep you're right there!

I would suspect than nearly every VW Dealer has at least one Mk6 GTI in stock , so I hope they find one for you soon.

The problem the dealers have got is finding one, what has a problem array, his current car hasn't subjected him too!
