Title: Help! What size space saver does your car have,
Post by: Jaywoo-GTI on June 20, 2013, 01:48:33 pm
My GTI has 18 inch monza II's on and a 18 inch space saver but one of my friends pre-facelift GT has 16 inch wheels but also has a 18 inch space saver with the same part number on it as mine 1KO-601-027-B.

He is going to ring the dealer where he purchased the car from tomorrow to see if it is the right one for his car.
Looking on ebay we have found that 16 inch space savers do exist for MK5 golfs so are both even more confused now.

Does the above sound right to everyone else as it seemed a bit odd to me?

If possible could people check what size space saver the have?

I wouldn't say it makes a huge amount of difference, as long as the tyre profile gives the right rolling radius?

Mine came with the tyre foam and compressor but I changed it to an 18" spacesaver. Not sure of the part number. I went for the bigger one as the standard wheels are 18's so wanted as close to the rolling radis as I could. Plus with the addition of the S3 brakes a smaller spacesaver wouldn't fit.
