Title: ET42 offset......
Post by: swgti on June 21, 2013, 10:53:01 am
Would I have any issues running 225/40/18 on ET42 offset? The car isn't lowered.

Ta!

Width dependant, you'll be fine.

This is mine with ET42 8inch (ooo ey) wide.

depends entirely on the width. without that information it is difficult to say categorically

also Keano i was thinking if a set of RS2s for my 8P for ages. in the end i decided against it, but it looks like they suit the Mk5 down to the ground

I think you should consider a set of BBS VZs from GNJ Motorsport. For the sake of just over £200 you can have a genuine set of BBSs. Seems a bit of a no brainer really

Needing tyes too otherwise might have opted for those but the budget is a bit too tight at the mo, if I dont sell my Monzas I'll just be getting them refurbed dark grey anyway.

+1

It'll be worth the extra wait imo. The VZ is one of the best wheels for the mk5 imo

definitely wait mate. those reps will cost you more in the long run, because when you come to shift them on they'll be worthless. the VZs will still be worth something because they're BBSs

i think GNJ should pay us some commission if swgti buys a set of VZs lol

IMO keep monzas cos genuine standard wheels are better than fake bbs but some people have different views on this subject

Standard height you should be fine...

I get rubbing on ET45 8x18" withh225/40r18 on front but on back I run 8mm spacers too ;-)

Yeah really in two minds, must admit leaning slightly more back towards getting them refurbed, I'll see what happens over the next week or so and make a decision then.
