Title: 1/4 mile banter for Inters - what you after?
Post by: Hurdy on June 28, 2013, 04:31:00 pm
So, GTI International will be here next weekend and with it being held at Shakespeare County Raceway I was wondering if it would tempt anyone to dabble on the 1/4 mile for a change?

If so what expectations have you got for times and terminal speeds?

Last time at the pod I was doing a 14.1 second 1/4 mile and 99mph terminal

Are you ko3 bendy?

I think last time at the pod I did 14.1 and 102-103mph.

Danza should be forced to do the run in reverse!

That's a good time with a sub 100mph terminal. You must have had a decent launch?

I might have a mooch over, should be good of the weathers good.

I'd hope for under 13.5 in my Eddy, but wouldn't even like to guess tbh!

Hold on........I thought only VAG were allowed to run at Inters? You changed you motor again?

No idea on terminal, I'm guessing 100+ but I am a manual. I'm not completely sure how the 2 go hand in hand.

I have special permission to run  :happy2:

From the website:

Quote
Cars from other marques (non-Volkswagen group) may be allowed to run, subject to availability, at the discretion of the Sprint Managers.

4.5 to 60 and 12.5 to the 1/4mile is my aim. Will be happy if I come home with that.

Stevie.

Hmm, 104-105mph and I'll guess at 13.3 if you are still stock.

Special permission! Sounds intriguing. :jumping:

Revo stage 4 - manual - weight reduction

I'd say you should be quite a bit faster!

Sounds about right for the car, gearing is slightly shorter than the last one, so I reckon I'll be in 4th crossing where as the other would still be in 3rd - that'll lose me a fraction.

Nothing really intriguing. I did something nice for someone a while back and they gave me this favour in return.

Always good to get something back for a favour.

Are you sure you don't mean that you'll be in 5th across the line! I definitely am in the R.

I might have a mooch over, should be good of the weathers good.

I'd hope for under 13.5 in my Eddy, but wouldn't even like to guess tbh!

What Stage is the Eddy? Manual or DSG?

Stage 2+ DSG (Stage 2 box map) not a very aggressive map but very smooth and does go well.

What you aiming for in the R mate?

Anything under 12.27. Current UK K04 record. :happy2:
Over 110mph terminal would be good too.

Steve, can i use dashboard lights as the excuse this time.  :signLOL:

What should a stock ED30 DSG run, so i have something to go by.

Last year i had ditchfinder tyres on the front so 0-60, was about 9sec with the qtr at 16+, but apparently my cambelt was timed wrong so fingers crossed its all running well this year.

Hoping to grab a ride in my friends GTR, that did a 3 sec 0-60 last year, if he come son sunday.
