Hi Gents,
I am really disappointed with the heating (or lack of) in the Golf as all I seem to get is puff of warm air then it goes cold. The only way I can get anything remotely hot is to have the dial all the way round to the right, so greater than 26c but that feels hotter than the sun!
I had the same issue with a Jetta I owned last year but sold the car before I could identify the problem.
- Has been scanned with VCDS but faults are flagged.
- I have Climatic air-con (not dual zone)
- Both top and bottom radiator hoses get hot
- The car gets to 90c in about 10-15 minutes
- The coolant was changed about 14 months ago
As I can get heat it is starting to look like the control flaps are goosed but I’m not getting the tell tell clicking from behind the glove box.
Any thoughts?

Do the output test in VCDS - each item is checked and shows % of actual against expected for climatic.
-
:ashamed: Can you tell me how to do that.

I'll look it up and come back with the Ross tech how to but it's really easy.

Go to here

Module 8
Then you'll see in the button choices output test go that route.
However, if you've replaced the climatic facia module you should have done the adaption as Ross Tech describe.

This shows all the items in the heating system to help fault finding.
