Wheel hop. Not good if you have a highly modified MK5 and you cant get the power down.
I cant remember the last time I had any wheel hop and no doubt this was eliminated with the addition of hardware such as the WALK and full set of THS engine mounts and vibratechnics dogbone mount, along with the very best tyres you can buy - Pilot Super Sports are great :happy2:
I also switched over to the linear throttle map though and although the car initially feels slower I do prefer the power delivery and it does increase the driveability with a diff fitted.
Such is the "linear" delivery that it led me to question whether this along with the WALK would eliminate the hop on its own and whether a solid lower mount is as crucial as it was on the old map.
What are other members thoughts on the linear map helping eradicate this issue?

Yes matey, thats what i asked for and it makes a big difference, wheel hop has gone
hated having wheel hop, i even changed to coilovers and superpro anti lift kit, with is more of an antilift kit if you look threw the last few pages on my thread you will see the difference between whiteline and superpro A.L.K.
or just go easy on your right foot :signLOL:

i knew the bushes were meant to be of a higher quality on the SALK over the WALK but was not aware it was actually more efficient, will check it out. :happy2:

Since having my linear R tech remap, I have much better launch then I did with the old Bluefin remap. That's without any walk or Suspension mods.

He's not going into that area of business from what I've heard, there's no market for it as Revo are already doing them and charging 3x more then the market share. That means they must be good :popcornsoda:

Wheel hop is where the driven wheels hop, jump, shake while under acceleration.
I have a Revo linear throttle with no mount upgrades and do get wheel hop but only under very harsh acceleration.

you will know about it if you experience it, very unpleasant indeed, have to really go lightly with your right foot as too much power/torque for the wheels to cope will induce it at stg 2+ which makes being at that stage of tune of the old Revo map pointless because a Stg 1 KO3 Gti will get the power down better in the wet/greasy road conditions

I get it alot
-
walk, all 3 mounts and no hop for me
-
W-ALK, THS FR3 Mounts, H&R Springs, 19" wheels, Quaife LSD and lots of hop :sad1:
Hoping to get Linear Throttle for my ECU from APR
-
If you bury the throttle in first gear expect wheel hop... no matter what map you have.
Feed in the power..... repeat after me.... Feed in the power! :signLOL:
