Well, i bought the car new, about 5 nearly 6 months ago.
I didn't waste any time in ripping it to bits, from :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_1934.jpg&hash=0c87ca3155529ff81a668ced9cc77df00b8ea66e)
To :

With in the first hour of owning it ! lol
Now running U.S. DRL's :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_2874.jpg&hash=b8f39e4e8f051f721f4dcf2dad2d59557fc6b13e)
I don't care fro the chrome badges, so i painted the VW ones in satin black (plebty of coats) and deleted the front GT badge. I also deteled some of the rear badging, and retro fitted some red TDi badges.
I've also gone with a touch of euro, with yellow fogs and main beams too
Front :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_2811.jpg&hash=9b4d846ffa68cdd34a9ebb78aef2a45f7a2ad0c6)
I've added the auto boot too :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi195.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2Fth_DSC00086.jpg&hash=cc872f7a8152c88fdf20c050641095415dc9c8cf) (http://s195.photobucket.com/albums/z312/NotNormal_photo/?action=view¤t=DSC00086.flv)
A very handy touch :happy2:
Carbon mirror cases, along with blue heated mirror lenses :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_2834.jpg&hash=10f88a4dc3900f00131779dc65d70624ac5d61c0)

Added the GTi front chin spoiler insert :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_2788.jpg&hash=a49d5f193f01b21027f91d62cecec31dbcd92bd3)
Got alittle bored after 700 miles or so with the power or lack of, so had a remap :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FFV08TZBRollingRoad29aug08-1.jpg&hash=3f3076b6599744bd879c29a8f0ea0d2630e685d7)
205bhp / 330ft.lbs
And now, i have just addded a DPF removal pipe :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FDSC00094.jpg&hash=97c0b8b77357e03367126c73aceb9b715a88df61)
had to have an extention added, but other than that, it;s a great fit. Spot on Miltek :
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_2904.jpg&hash=2d8a17a510a5e9969f86a68fc0533fb851bddc38)
It'll be having a rolling road session as it stands, then next week my car will be living a Revo for the week. Having abit of development done ...... so this is where i'm at pretty much, watch this space for a new power figure and rolling road graph
My roof will be black, along with my bonnet, just waiting for the body wrap fromt he U.S. ...... it's being sent tomorrow
Springs and wheels next, then i'll leave it.
I use it for work, so can't go mad or propperly low, but it hasn't stopped me so far :ashamed:
After only 5 and abit months i've clocked up 16500 miles :surprised: :driver: ...... but hey, i bought it to drive it, anddrive it i will ..........

Mr speedy modder you dont hang about do you. :surprised: IMHO all of your mods are very tasteful and a credit to you. (https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi294.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fmm104%2Ftomashandmilly%2Fimages-4.jpg&hash=6d659e056ce8a90176c9cdfeac4a7d0beb20ac22)
-
lol - no, not really one for taking my time.
I have little or no fear.
I'm really looking forward to going down to Revo, to drop my car off next week. I'll be interesting to see what they can come up with 8)
I'm starting to get into the Vag Com side of things alot more now too - longcoding ect... i find it very interesting, seems to work in my head
-
Keep the updates coming on your motor very interesting. :happy2:

How did you do that? 8)
-
Looking good Notnormal, some really nice subtle mods there. Looking forward to seeing the results from Revo, you will proably have on of the quickest MKV oil burners around, keep us updated :happy2:
-
noticed in N/S fog grille in one of the pics- holes drilled whats behind there, cooling for summit.

Change the protocol for the remote button to release in stead of unlock. Add 2 x 3/4 inch springs - and thats about it.

Ps if i ever get the chance to meet you ! you've got to help me make mine an "Notnormal Auto booot !"

Thanks. The diesel thing was mainly as i work out of it and do a sh1t load of miles. But as with every carand van i have i just can't help myself lol
The econ went up when i flashed the Chipped UK fast road map onto the car, then went up again when i removed the DPF (slightly) but the DPF removal mainly has improved drivability, spool and it's not as breathless when revving now.
The revo results will be interesting - i'll keep people post results wise
The auto boot thing, sure, where are you in the country ??
The smoke thing, well, there really isn't that much at all on the current fast road map - if you've been pooteling about town then give it a shoefull you get a small puff of smoke, not to heavy though, other than that - very little if i'm honest.
looks 8) that
Thanks - i've been keeping my eyes open for your motor around notts. i come regular to nottingham, afew times a week.

Added a new bit this afternoon

Usually the Lenton lane area....but i ventrue everywhere  :happy2:
Ya can't miss me, i'll be the one with the DRL's :P

NotNormal, your ride is awesome. Stock, it looks like mine modded! You have the car I wanted to buy, but the only US diesel MKVs that were out at the time was the older 1.9L TDI 100hp/177trq in the Jetta. Well, I wanted a Golf GT TDI 170 4Motion, but I really like my GTI. All we get now is the Jetta sedan/Sportwagen TDI 140, FWD only.
Do you have any of your stock GT grille setup by chance? I might be interested if you feel it's taking up space.

Thanks
And yes, i have the stock grille setup.
Feel free to PM me an offer

Thats decent! nice work!
One thing i'm always fascinated by is what do you do when you come to sell it? I mean its a GT but made to look like GTI, how do you explain that!? just interested thats all!
-
My guess is judging by the speed he is modding it you wont be able to tell its a golf by next year let alone a GT so he will just have to take them out for a spin.
Sold to the first buyer me thinks.
-
hi mate, how did you get on with the revo map? i heard there was a few niggles? any issues worth noting?
-

Thankyou.
It doesn't look like a GTi BTW, the front red stripe will be different by the end of next week/weekend! As will afew other touches ..... it'll std out for sure ! :happy2:
And i have all the origional parts stored ready to swap back should i want to sell it. But TBH, the misses will be getting it after i've clocked several thou up.....18500 in 6 months so far

LOL - no point hangin' about ehhh ! :rolleye:
hi mate, how did you get on with the revo map? i heard there was a few niggles? any issues worth noting?
The Revo map is very strong, drives well and returns good fuel econ when needed.
Afew niggles, not really, only 3 small issues. These are being resolved currently. BUt in answer to your question, no, nothing worth noting at all.
Where'd you here about the afore mentioned issues ?
JPC <<<< sounds like i should know you, do I ?
-
hiya mate, nah i dont think you'll know me.
so you havent had any emisions lights pop up?
ta
-
so you havent had any emisions lights pop up?
ta
Nope, not one light on the dash.
Checked regularly on VAG COM also, and nothing there either.
-
brilliant! i'll be picking my 170 tdi up soon so ill be eagerly doing the map and DPF removal!

Sweet, what map you having ?? Revo, CUK or other ??
-
im still undecided about either really. it needs to be switchable.
i have heard good and bad things about both companies obviously. but ive had a chipped uk map on my anni and think its great

TBH, i'm alittle miffed @ Chipped UK - the origional map they supplied, a fast road map to suit carswith DPF's was great. It returned 205/330ft/lbs. It dropped off quite quickly for my liking, but i put this down to the DPF and sooting issues.
When i asked for a second map, suited to my car but WITHOUT a DPF Simon eventually sent a file through.
I flashed the file onto the ECU. Went for a spin......
..... no different, it went the same as it did when i was running the DPF map.
Me being me, i thought that maybe i'd flashed the wrong file, so i repeated the process. NOPE, still the same.
The file names were :
Fast Road map.dat
Fast Road NO DPF.dat
When i opend these two files, i found that they were both identical.
He'd just renamed the file.
I also found that they'd only adjusted 3 of the 8 boost load sites. Not overly comprehensive by anyone standards.
And to this date, sadly, i'm still waiting for Simon to ring me back about it !
Luckly the Revo oppertunity came up, and it's transformed the car.
TBH, i'd wait for the release of the Revo non-DPF software.
Then theres the stage 2 too come too :happy2:
If you wanna buy my ST3 unit, it's 4 months old and will siut your car, both with and without DPF. make me an offer.
Tom
-
Ohh, my friend has anm Anni, PD150 with a CUK map, and it's totally awesome - goes almost as well as my 205 verson (running the DPF) 8)
The early maps are good.
not too impressed so far with the later stuff
-
Like Tom says Jay I would hang on and wait for Revo to complete their DPF removal software and if there is a stage 2 map coming that is definately worth the wait. :happy2:

Any chance you can tell me how you switched on the US Side Markers? Neg switched on the US DRL's via VagCom on Saturday but all that happens there is that the lights stay on all the time. He did look for other settings but couldnt find anything other than the DRL's?!?
-

Have you got halogens or xenons, you'll only achieve this look via xenons unless you use the lens next to the indicator and plumb in your own wiring etc. The halogen DRL is just sidelights on all the time
-
Yeah I have xenons, in NotNormals pics he has the indicators on all the time which I guess is the US Sidemarkers

Wrong ...... it's your indicators on all the time (but still flash and is LEGAL !)

Close, they are nearly the US sidemarkers, but they are different
Markymark..... in central electric :

A neuspeed dog-bone insert.
Should be fitting it at the weekend, a must for everyone with above std power IMO.
Get one from :

#
lol .... oppps.....yes, i forgot to add that bit of txt :embarrassed:
Yes, it's an EGR delete :happy2:
-
where from? how much? :)
-
For the xenons, did you buy the levelling sensors and the washers also?
-
where from? how much? :)
Allan @ Allard. £62 delivered.
I thought it seemed alittle steep, but tbh, the kit is comprehensive.
The pipe, all bolts, gaskets and rubber O rings needed.
With the delete pipe, it comes with the option to add a take off point for a boost gauge if thats your thing.
Good bit of kit, should be fitting it at the weekend all going well.
For the xenons, did you buy the levelling sensors and the washers also?
Errr..... I ordered my car new with the Xenons spec'd from the factory.
-
sh!t I posted on the wrong thread!!!!!! Sorry dude!

No worries :P
-
did you mean to post in mine mate? haha
thought it would be allard. im in two minds whether or not to do the EGR thing on my new car. i have done it on the anni but i seems a bit of a crude thing mod. i may be being a bit soft but for something that give a TINY bit of improvement, i might leave it on this one

TBH, my cars pretty much brand new, had it since day one - and i don't like the idea of recycling waste gasses back into the inlet and mixing them with the oil vapours causing sludge and gunk build up making a restriction thus less power.
It's not really a power mod, more a prevention mod. You engine will stay cleaner and healthier for longer, the power is a bonus (if any is gained)
-
fair does, mines new too. only had four miles on the clock on thursday. i know what your saying. let me know how you get on with the fitting

-
how did you get on mate?
The EGR removal pipe is still sat in the boot..... lol .....kinda lost interest in everything lately.
Notnormal....were you going up the m6 north around preston last night at about 4.30pm
No mate, i was in Lincoln about then, heading home.
ye...he was the guy who smoked you! ;)
 ..... TBH, for circa 220bhp and 330ft/lbs is doesn't smoke that bad. Only a light haze in the headlights behind.
-
by smoked, i meant, kicked his arse! ;) nothing to do with emmisions. i spoke to revo today and mentioned your name. how is the map? they havent released it as yet as they said it need a bit more work.
they said they'd give it me but not to expect a perfect map.
should i?
-

I know you meant kicked his arse lol, it was just a side note ;)
As for the map, i would, the only two small issues are on occasiob it clips the boost limit and it does a mandatory re-gen cycle check every 600-700 miles (give or take) for between 2 and 12 miles depending on driving styles.
All that means is that it puff's alittle smoke and has a deep exhaust tone upto 2000rpms.
It's perfectly livable
Good power spead
Does 140 units indicated on the speedo with ease....worth having IMO
-
hmm...i think i might leave it for a while. maybe its a bit too much for the engine?
-
hmm...i think i might leave it for a while. maybe its a bit too much for the engine?
Nah, well within tollerances for the 2.0.
Allard tuning have a 2.0 diesel running 340bhp, and it's don't ALOT of miles !
You''ll be fine.
-
thats good to know! ;)
-
are you going to be fitting the egr blank?
and can you remember how much paid and how long took to come?
thanks

DRL's.....have you got xenon lights ?
Full circle b/lights......no [:(] ..... but i am working on it [;)]
-
im getting the car this month so not sure if it will or not yet, im guessing by your comment you need to have xenons for it to work.
Keep at it will be well worth it... its the little things that count. Not sure why vw didnt do it in the 1st place
-
Hello mate, any chance of a step by step guide to activating the DRL's?
Cheers
Paul
-
ye...he was the guy who smoked you! ;)
doubt it :P
-
**** Just a quick update****
Currently running some 'beta' software.
Only had this on for about 1000 miles or so, but the finished article shouldn't be too long in the pipeline now
It's looking good and driving well 8)

Mate, I've never seen a fast modder.
Looks nice. An oil burner that's faster than petrol!
Have you 'podded yet?

EGR delete pipe ( so long as it doesn't put the egr light on ! )
Custom intake and filter position (possible custom airbox and position)
Maybe a new exhaust <<< not that bothered about this TBH, it's more for the look in the bumper appature
Things on my internal list to do :
Speaker addition + upgrade + sub
Centre front airvent

Wondered where you had got to, you havn't been around for a while.
Looking good, ride height is spot on, you brave choosing green any more pics of the stripe there is only one pic that gives a good indication of the true colour.

lovin the green stripe, different to the norm, but then again you are notnormal! :happy2: need some ed30/r32 rears on there

Yay! I knew the green stripe looks good. When I first suggested it, everyone gave me the evil eye!
I was thinking of lime-green stripe with lime-green brake calipers.

Green calipers to me say Skoda VRS, but with the green stripe i think it'd work.
I've just re-done my calipers, in black, as at the moment i'm going for a more U.S. look combined with stealth 8)

Love the green stripe, ride height, wheels etc. A break away from the norm that has come off really well

certainly living up to your username name, its original and works i like it :happy2:

so any news on the revo? they got it sorted/released it yet?

it's different, and i like different, but i'm going to sit on the fence with the colour of grey and green :happy2:

Wanting some advice not normal!
i have a 140 tdi, chipped to around 180, thinking of installing eibach sportlines.
i have noticed you have installed eibach springs, are they the sportline or pro-kit, staing you do many miles, i feel your advice would be very beneficial as it do many miles
on another note i am very intrigued as to the modifications you have done to achieve you power of 220hp, i too would like to uprate my power and more so torque, any advice would be welcome!
Shaun

NN has a 170DPF so you'd struggle to get close to those figures without spending some cash on other stuff. im pretty sure that the 170 has a front mount intercooler not sure about the 140 though.
would be nice to see a TDI taken to the next level performance wise :happy2: get it done :P
-
How did you get on with the "full" brake lights?

Cal TDi
would fitting an intercooler from an s3, without other modifications improve the performance, i am looking to install custom exhaust turbo back shortly, so would the intercooler and exhaust be sufficient or am i looking at turbo upgrades etc?
your advice would be appreciated

Having done circa 1500 miles on themsince fitting i can say you'll be fine with the sportlines, once the shockers bed into there new lower stance they perform well.
I've done about 31000 miles since new, 10 months (ish) ago lol

The 140 and 170 are different units, the 170 has a bigger turbo and a DPF.
I've had a DPF removal pipe fitted with a map to suit.

As Cal says, you will need to be spending some cash to have over 200+ from what i belive out of the 140.
But it would be good to see it done.
A hybrid turbo, panel filter, egr delete, bigger intercooler and cat free exhaust would be the route i'd go if i had the 140
How did you get on with the "full" brake lights?
FAIL (but mainly due to me forgetting about looking into it haha)

They do bolt straight in, but the pipe work might need alittl adjusting.
I'm currently on the hunt for the current spec S3 intercooler as they are bigger than the one fitted std to mine.
As i said above :
A hybrid turbo, panel filter, egr delete, bigger intercooler and cat free exhaust
That should see you over the 200 mark with the right map
Exhaust wise, miltek are popular. But you will need to get a custom down pipe made as there aren't any for diesels that i would use.
ONly the miltek DPF delete pipe, but thats isn't suited to your car
-
Thanks for this advice,
already on the route with a custom turbo back exhaust system being fitted in 6 weeks (thats how long their waiting time is), made by a company in Newcastle specialising in titanium and stainless exhaust systems, so hopefully that will aid the breathing.
Sportlines and Panel Filter being fitted on thursday.
Have you fitted your EGR from allard yet, if so have you noticed the improvement?
Thanks for the Advice NN, nice to come across someone with a good knowlege of Dirty Diesels
Would i need to fit both the intercooler and turbo together, orcould one be done without the other and if so which of the 2 would be better to begin with?
I know i am asking maybe too many questions, but thanks in advance for any answers that can be given!
Regards
Shaun

we need a diesel tuning thread really
but intercooler before big turbo for sure! you wouldnt want a big turbo with no extra cooling in place
-

No, not fitted yet......too lazy lol

You can fit the turbo before the I/C but your intake temps will be alittle higher after prolonged use thus not benifing full, but this is only after a good spirited run

Idealy fit both together, but not essential - as per above
No worries about the questions

that list of mods is all on my car except uprated fmic
been looking into this but the standard ones are fairly good rating for now
vwr have recommended me a fmic though

Got a link to what they recomend ?
I was goimg to go the S3 intercooler, slightly deeper than my std one and the same surface area

no but they run the s8 one in the caddy
dunno wether to do it or not before they map mine

You put that they recomended you one, thought you knew what it was
I'll have a look into what the s8 is like compared to std next week

wel its the s8 they recommend

I too have a 140GTTDI like AudiA4Cab!!
I'm in exactly the same situation.....need more power!!! lol
I've already got the Green Panel Filter and Bluefin Remap to get the car to 187bhp and 295lb/ft torque, and next on the list, being fitted next Thursday are the Eibach Sportlines and Milltek (resonated with downpipe option so turbo back in effect) so hoping for near 200bhp at least!!
And as for 6 weeks waiting time AUDIA4CAB, I'm only waiting 2!
My main concern is the wheels catching on the arches, but I think one of the problems I've found out is that I've a burst shock on the NS which should have been replaced today, but the dealer ordered new springs instead (but I called up last Friday when the springs were to be fitted and said I was going to lower the car on new springs but needed the shock replaced first under warranty, which reminds me that they said a new spring and shock had to be fitted under warranty, best call back the dealers and confirm they haven't sent it back!!)
Anyway, I've always wondered what the difference is between the 140 and 170 (apart from a DPF) to get that extra power and have been told its injectors, is that right or just a bigger turbo and intercooler? or both? anyone got facts?
had to put my pennies on here too....
-
i think there is a bigger turbo if i remeber correctly
-

Having had a look, other than the DPF the 170's run piezo injectors and a bigger turbo, other than that they are the same.

Just looked on ETKA and its took me ages but from what I can see the BMN engine 125kW-170bhp has different part numbers on the engine block, cylinder head and cover, turbo, intercooler and injectors so I would say probably not in a big way but its a different engine to the BKD/AZV engine103kW-140bhp

I thought the part numbers were only different in they way that they denote the higher bhp/kW
The C/R and pistons/rods ect are the same aren't they ?
The I/C measure the same
-
so to get mine up in power as per a 170, it would take more than injectors and turbo?
I want to eventually make this a Porsche beater with over 300bhp and 500lb/ft torque if possible, but talking in prob a year or 2!

spotted your motor on outer circle road yesterday around 6:30ish and without brown nosing too much it looks even better in the flesh :happy2:
you still just on eibachs? looked mighty low for springs

Yeah, just on Eibachs, they work well - better than other brands i've driven

are yours the sportlines or the prokit?

Sportline's
Nice one, same here. They work amazing well don't they just for springs! Thought the ride was going to be harsh but its not too different to the standard springs.
Also, with the boot open option on your remote, does it not open when you unlock all the doors? That would be a pain
-
Has anyone gone down the S3 intercooler route? I found out that there only £240 direct from Audi.
Chris

Chris
Been thinking about it - but even at cost price (from Audi) it's still too much money on a very marginal increase IMO
If i find a secondhand one cheap enough i'd do it
£200 is just too much cash gamble on what is just my work sh*tter TBH
-
i have the S3 cooler, took me about 7 hours to fit it in the freezing cold :scared:
-
thats on a GTI though isn't it Joe not a GT TDI?
-
ive got one and had a trial fit but it not fitted yet
even if it is just a marginal increase the reason ive gone for it is for its metal end caps
-
Been messing about with the car again, now running a full Miltek and a remote cold air filter
The Miltek - dull to look at but hey :P
It's the resonated version as i hate the sound of diesels with noisey exhaust
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_0141.jpg&hash=3c0114e27dc5ac2de030e72b9b34711c95cc1472)
I've done what i did with the std system, tucked it up tight to the bumper (and no, it dosn't touch it :happy2: )
Then we have my 'home-grown' cold air induction kit.
Please note this isn't finished, i need to fabricate a bracket then the cable ties will be gone :P
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_0142.jpg&hash=81e1ece5a354072a6908328b34ff0badcec6c1c5)
And the filter sit behind the fog light grille, need an open face grille for the n/s really
(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fdaz.co%2Fmedia%2Fz312%2FNotNormal_photo%2FIMG_0143-1.jpg&hash=b2df29545aae870b06f2abd7c6d21e97662fe3bb)
I was abit cautious about doing this, because i didn't want that over powering boomey tractor induction sound that you can get from drilling the airbox and putting a direct cold air feed to it.
TBH i'm pleasantly suprised with the noise, it just sounds like a petrol turbo car sucking away.
The cabin noise is no more intrusive than the panel filter in the box i use to run.
I've been runing the cold air filter for about 450 miles.
The over all feel of the power delivery is better, alittle more linnier when coming on boost, alot more free revving with just the the cold air filter kit.
With the exhaust added it's marginly better still - but i'll comment more later as i've only done about 30miles with the exhaust on.
-
Looking good Tom! Was the exhuast a special "diesel" variant?
How's the Volvo situation going? Or still on the courtesy car?
I need to pop over and drop you that £ round and finish the Workshop Code error on VCDS. Did a bit of research and its supposedly because I'm using a WSC code which it doesnt like.

Volvo has been written off - starting the claim for loss of earnings, injury, property damage now.
Back using my golf for work and racking up the miles lol
Just over a year old now and 38500 8)
It's just the std GTI miltek - they run the same as the 170 diesel just with a 1/4 inch conversion pipe, the 170's have visable tail pipes , the other diesels in the range are hiddern as they don#t have DPF (neither does mine now though hey :P )
Pop down anytime fella - i'm still off work  :fighting: - bored - we can sort it out then :happy2:

The intake temps on that are a little high :surprised:
That was on a chipped uk map, which was removed and replaced with a Revo non-DPF map and it was a total transformation
The intake temps were alot lower, as the Chipped uk map basicly just upped the fuel and didn't change the ignition
I sold the car about 7 months ago now, since then the new owner had added an S3 intercooler and it going to consider a custom remap to suit
The intake temp's are 5-8 deg lower still with the intercooler !
-
The intake temps on the dyno graph have nothing to do with the map, thats down to the operator of the dyno. On a DynoDynamics dyno the air proble should be placed in the airbox/at the airfilter to get an accurate measurement of intake air temperature and it should closely match the reading that shows AT on the graph, if it doesnt then its a good sign of a dyno with extremely poor cooling / incorrectly placed temp sensor or a falsified dyno reading to show a higher final power figure.
P.s a diesel has no 'ignition' as such in the map. :happy2:
-
with my experiences of chipped UK, id say your bang on the money with the Temp Probe scenario!
