Booked my car in for its DSG service for Monday.
Just wondering if anyone noticed any improvements after having it done! I know it's a vital service with the DSG cars so hoping it will prevent any future issues!

mine is actually worse afterwards.
clunk from 1st to 2nd and vibration in 4th.
Been back a few times and still trying to work out whats wrong as it was perfect before.
Although a drive home the other night was perfect and not had chance to drive it again since then so maybe it was just an adaption period?

I had mine done about 2000 miles ago, didn't notice any real difference but I am sure its a bit quieter! Might just be me though, never listened to it before :signLOL:

I have a DSG mk6. What are the service intervals for the DSG? Are these covered as part of the normal 10k/12month service or something you have to ask for seperately? Also, what does it check?
Similar question but as I've picked my GTi up second hand (ex- VW management car) is there any benefit in getting the DSG reset so that it can 'learn' your driving style? Or as the car has only done 10,000miles (12months old) is that not really an issue?

They do apparently 'learn your driving style'.
I had mine reset after I got mine from the stealer. It seemed to kick down too readily and change up at odd speeds/revs. After a week or so the box did more or less what I wanted and change at speed/revs that suit my driving style. After the DSG service earlier this year it was reset - the local indy do that as a matter of course as new fluid and filter clean can affect it - it was different again but soon settled to what I expected.
Worth doing IMO

Service interval for the DSG is 40,000 miles. Also there is no need for a reset as it learns and adapts all on its own. To be honest this adaption thing is nothing special basically if you red line it before every change when in manual it will not change up until higher in the rev range in auto. The reality is most times you would change up at the same time as in a manual at the point were you know the engine won't be struggling with the occasional blast thrown in. The Dsg will just change up at the earliest point, quite often to early for the conditions. :indifferent:
