.... just taken my brothers car out for a little 'italian tune up'. So much more nimble than the mk5 GTI.

Nice car that
-
Nice little cars.
Perfect choice for people who want an exciting, great handling, fun to drive car - without pouring £THOUSANDS into suspension mods for their mk5
I bet it's immense on track
-
Great fun on the twisties. Loved my little Clio RS200. But they are so slow in a straight line. :sad1:
-
very nice car
-
Thanks guys.
I wouldnt say its slow. I meant, yes it feels slow against my car... but that mines got another 100+bhp. I love the fact you really have to wind the engine up to get it to go, shame its not got another 50bhp to go with it.
Gray... yes, they are fun on track. Ive been around cadwell as a passenger in it and its funny.... :signLOL: :signLOL:
-
I miss mine, but I got rid at the right time - 6 months of fun, massively abused on track and all it cost me was the rent.

-
If you managed to do that in a FWD Clio Mike, best avoid the track with the BMW! :happy2:
-
Driver error. Something was wobbling around on the car in front and I let it distract me.
I was 100% 'on it', well up the top of 4th. Missed my braking point had to do the split second decision of what escape plan? Decided it was safer to lob it in straight rather than attempt the bend, then understeer/oversteer into the litter sideways and roll.
Felt pretty stupid, but lesson learnt and got away with it :happy2:
-
Great little cars- had a full fat 200 with cup pack, recaros and speedlines awesome handling car,had a 15,000 mile 182 trophy #043-500 that was unreal
-
Quality pics Rich as usual
Always thought the change in front bumper/grill from the 197 gave these a duck look, but the rear was nicely improved.
-
Such a beautiful car and great photos!
-
Great cars, but as mentioned under-powered :sad1:
Pity they made the new one so Fugly
-
would like to try one of the new clios, are they really that underpowered?
-
Well the 200 has about 190bhp so it won't set your pants on fire!
Word is that my Bro has his eye on a megane 265... Watch this space.
-
I'd still have my old ly f1 r27 if the gearbox's weren't like chocolate 3 in 30k and new owner had to fit a 4th before he sold it :fighting:
-
Yeah they are crap. My brother keeps changing the box oil to try and make it work better.
-
I have a friend who is putting megane 225 engines in twingo's n clio's....

Did you lease it?
-
Back when it was desperate times in the car sales, you could get one of these for £200/month with no deposit. I added a few options inflating that but by the time I decided to jump the mags had raved about them, bolstering sales, and I was able to sell it back to the dealer at no real loss due to demand.
They fell on their arse later, and are an absolute bargain now. So much so I'd consider buying another as a toy. Forget power figures, these deliver in so many other ways.
-
Yeah they do.... But however you paint it. 190bhp isn't enough, even if it does stick to the road like glue.
-
Hmm - maybe if it was your only car, you'd tire of it, but as a toy it's more than enough to make you grin.
-

i found that too with the 197...

I think so slow is a bit harsh, as fast as a stock ed30

I don't think that's the case.... My stock ed30 felt quicker than the 200
-
Looks like my bro is getting an RS Megane.... pics to follow.
-
I really like these.
-
Thanks mate..
The clio has gone, so those were the last proper photos of it.
Boost in the house garage!

i miss my 200, had a liquid yellow with speedlines, recaros, sat nav, everything! one of the best cars i have ever owned!
-
My R27 was almost faultless. Only thing that went wrong was a creaky door strap and that was replaced under warranty. Drawback: I got given a girly blue Modus for the day!

Just looks committed.
I'm driving an RS 265 next month, this is wetting the appetite nicely.

Im sure you will love it.

I test drove a 250 when they first came out. Great car, although the engine felt a little tight with only a few hundred on the clock. Nearly wet my pants trying not to laugh when the salesman told me it was 26 grand, though!
