Is there any bolt on alternatives to a K04 turbo? Not requiring any special manifolds etc...
-

Not that I need one, just interested for future planning... is the exhaust manifold good enough to work with hybrids? or ultimately is it change the manifold time...

I'll never understand people chasing more than 300/350bhp in a fwd car, IMO 300 is more than enough for uk roads, even track how often is the money spent on power going to benefit over weight saving or handling.
Drivability I think will be massively affected too (never driven 2l pushing 400bhp though)
If 4wd or larger displacement I could see the point in putting money towards those higher numbers though.
I have somewhere near 340 and always wish I'd stayed back at 280 and put money into handling.
Just my opinion though!

I just want to pump petrol in from now on :signLOL: modding getting outta control, need help!

Mine is pushing 380ish and have no problem with traction. Its how the power is brought in that is the key. If its mapped to come in on full boost low down then your going to get wheelspin all day long. Custom maps are the way forward

who done your map dude ^ ?

I managed to eek 440bhp and 510lbft of torque from my ED30 when I had it. I thought it was the way forward. Now I have a Golf R and how it handles the power is much better. Having said that I can still see the lure of a well set up 400+bhp fwd car as mine was mental, but I loved it

I bought a bike a few months ago and it seems to have cured my need to mod the golf
