A massive Congratulations guys it is an awesome feeling.
I recently asked my lady friend myself, currently wedding planning (next April) turns out its a touch pricey. Reception is £5k alone for 80people.
How did you guys do it?
Mines a long story so ill cut it short, we were secretly together without letting friends and family know and we spent alot of time at this secret beach that not many locals no about (which i believe it to be the most beautiful beach in the country).
On the day i prepared a picnic and went to this beach, it was our anniversary of our first date and i gave her a book. I filled the scrap book with pictures, words, drawings and memories, after the memories i had cut a hole out of the centre of the page (technically many, many pages stuck together) I covered the hole with a heart and inside it put the ring. She said yes and it was the most amazing and memorable day.
This is a picture of the beach (although i cant reveal its exact location  ) its near St. ives, Cornwall

Evening folks,
Back from Beautiful Scotland - Had a 6 drive back through the most gorgeous scenery - truly fantastic views. shame is was in a 1.4 Crappy Corsa who's air con has packed in :sad1:
We had a truly amazing weekend (it still hasnt sunk in that we are engaged!). Im exhausted and drained (literally) - i know how an engine feels like after having its sump smashed
Anyway, my proposal took a fair bit of planning. I got out hotel to make up a nice picnic and a local kayaking company arranged for us to paddle to a secluded location to have a treasure hunt. The bloke who runs the kayaks created the treasure hunt which finished in a small alcove with its own little beach. One of the first treasure chests contained a locked box with no key (inside the box was the ring). When the last clue lead us to the alcove, we "discovered" the picnic. Whilst munching through that, she found the key inside the picnic cool bag and opened the tin. I took the ring, got down on one knee and did my bit. :happy2:
Already there is talk of our wedding, new house and kids etc. Luckily, with the powers of foresight, the ED30 is 5 doors so thats staying :happy2: Her crappy corsa is only a 3 door.... oh dear
