My car is due its second MOT soon, I've noticed a small bulge on one of my asymmetrics. Clearly been a pinch in a pothole or something, no mark at all on the rim.
Will it fail its MOT?
I rather suspect it will, just need someone to confirm before I shell out another £150 for a new corner....

Even it were to pass (not that I think it would) do you really want to drive around on a tyre that is showing signs of structural failure?! Best get a new one.
-
I'm 98% sure it will fail. Besides do you want to go driving an unsafe car anyway?
-
Yep, expected as much. Will get onto blackcircles asap. thanks for the responses chaps.

Its a DEFO MOT fail.
This make and model of tyre seem to be a little bad for this kind of fault. Have had to replace 3 so far, and im not one for not seeing the pot holes.

Iain, I think your onto something with these boots, I've already replaced one for the sane issue.... Wonder if any other assymetrics guys have had the same?.....

I just replaced my Falken 452's and 3 tyres were showing splitting of the inners or bulging, and one of them had a full on rip about 10cm long on the outside. It sh*t me up, really scary stuff, I am lucky that it didnt blow out. That is me down to 7 lives.
