Title: New GTI owner incoming
Post by: SooperD on July 09, 2013, 07:35:55 pm
Hi all.. Just give the thumbs up for a nice 05 mk5 GTI in Red.. 115,000 miles but FSH and felt very nice today when test driving.. Ill be sure to get some more pics up when I get the car on Saturday... Let the spending begin :) haha..

One thing i do want to find out is "How easy is it to install a CD/DVD player that isnt a VW product(ie pioner AVIC X1R)?" as thats the first thing i want to do is be able to play my mp3's and use the Sat nav. Do i need to get 1 of the RNS 510 things to ensure i can do this and everything will work correct?

Heres a quick pic i took of it today.. Forgive me for the size but its off my FB as i have nowhere else to upload pics and i dont know if i can resize on this forum? If there is a way or a mod can do it please reduce it down a bit :)

Look forward to chatting to you in the future :)

Welcome on board.  :drinking:

Nice looking Tornado GTI you have there. Join Photobucket.com (its free) and upload your pictures there and then you can resize, crop and photoshop away to your hearts content and then paste them into a post on the site.

Have a read of the site guidelines on posting pics....

Oh and loads of peeps have Pioneer Headunits, its no biggy to fit, that model doesn't ring a bell though. :happy2:

Cheers for the headsup on photobucket etc.. Will get signed up on there now in preparation for getting some more pics up next week in my progress thread (when i make one).

I have an old AVIC X1R headunit but its a flip out style so ideally be looking to get a stock Double Din RNS510 when I save lots of pennies :scared:

Thanks again.
