A mini city e with an era body kit twin carbs and a cooper interior rotted to bits before I passed my test
A Renault Clio MTV bought new crashed fixed then traded in
A Renault Clio 1.2 16v modded arranged to trade it in for a new Clio 182 and then got caught speeding 99 mph and wrote off the following month so had to cancel the 182 as insurance void as I didn't declare mods
Bought my brothers p reg megane coupe 2.0 16v and took over his payments as was struggling spent a fortune as it fell to bits so traded it in for a lupo gti and the dealer called after I don't deal saying there was finance still owed to my bro squanderd my cash I had to pay 1800 on credit card went down well!!
Lupo gti on a 54 plate with 2000 miles epic little car only car that iv ever missed tbh was overtaking a civic type r on a county road and as I was commuted the p**** pulled in to my lane and crushed me in to a brick built bridge still got passed but got it fixed then traded it in for an rx8
Got a 2 year old 231 rx8 with 13 k on clock modded it and got a Clifford fitted and 9 month old to me and experienced an electrical fault at 3 am set it self on fire totall loss

Had it 4 years loads of problems mainly 3 gearboxes so sold it
Ford transit connect sport
Bought it as commitments changed had it mapped went well went on holiday and a local organised car gang stole it from street last year some tools turned up in a chop shop and a found it on sale in eBay a few month ago on fake plates as a 57 was an 09 contacted police and they retrieved it was rung insurance already paid out anyway
Edition 30 and I sleep with my fingers and legs crossed LOL

Getting what I really wanted, mk6 Golf GTi (current motor and loving it)
...not been driving that long, and moved from the Micra to the GTi in less than a year having had the Micra for 3 years.

I'm struggling to understand why some people have had so many cars :confused: Seriously, why have you had 20-30+ cars in your driving history? Is it boredom? Not being able to find a car you like? Using it as a status symbol as if to say "look at me, I've got another new car"? Or something else?
Maybe I'm missing something here, but I'm quite satisfied with only being on my fifth car in 18 years. So what is it that drives you to change cars so often?

For me every car drives different and everyone is a car i have wanted to own slash drive think i had 5 clio sports last year :signLOL: i even had a rover :signLOL: it was silly silly cheap ie under £200 with tax a test so why not save a few miles on my other cars :signLOL:.I think my golf is longest daily driver i have ever owned other than my old VW Beetles that i had for over 10 years before selling it. I enjoy cars everything about them and sometimes even bought them just as i need a bigger car for something :signLOL: and for me cars are for owning and driving and if i can drive or own as many as possible then i will do it :driver:

Depends if it's a brand new SL63 like someone down my road just bought, feckin' gorgeous motor - they also have a Mk6 Golf GTI too and Mk5 before that (no doubt a Mk7 some time soon), so not in bad company. :signLOL:

Give over? I was only asking a question that I was struggling to understand the answer to and was looking for some explanation from people that could give me the answer. No need to answer in that tone :confused:. I actually think PCP increases the chance of people using their car as a status symbol because it makes a nice car more achievable.

No offence was meant, I would just like to know why people have felt the need to own so many cars. So far the only answer given is for the enjoyment factor which is fair enough. I enjoy the car I've got so I'm keeping it. Others obviously think differently and I was just trying to get my head round the frequent changes of car. If you enjoy driving/modifying a particular car, why change it?

Out of 42 cars i only regret selling one car, and that was my Volvo 850R just for pure comedy value. :happy2:

Indeed, good T16S's are fetching good money and one of mine was 35000 miles from new, 1 owner, sold it abot 10 years ago for 5 grand, would be worth double that now i reckon.
Biggest regret was selling the RS2000 though, as at 61000 miles and 1 previous keeper i hate to think what that would be worth nowadays!!!, sold it to a guy in Scotland for 2600, needed a mild resto but was solid and complete and ran and drove...

Yes, like fast swedish things, had what was arguably the fastest UK 900T16S back in the day about 15 yrs ago, did it all myself.
