As the title says, following the fitting of the APR HPFP on Friday, I took a visit to Votex at Congleton and had the stg 2+ plus code added to the car.
Very impressed with the service at Votex, a guy called Mike did the software update, he was very friendly and knowledgeable and once he new I was quite interested in the technical side of stuff talked me through everything. He did say he new TC and Mr Danza when I mentioned them
The upgrade is very impressive and I can only describe the power delivery as effortless and really eager. I thought it would be quite aggressive, but its very smooth and just keeps pulling effortlessly, you really need to keep a check on the speedo
Best I get saving for the clutch, brake upgrade and tyres :happy2:
-
Nice one Gaz Whats next after the clutch. :happy2:
-
tyres probably :booty:
-
Keep toying with the idea of switching to Revo 2+ from Apr. Interested in how differentit is. Will have a reationship with Revo then for future custom mapping wen I eventually go big turbo too.
-
nice one , they say the stage 2+ is more linear and 'feels' much OE like but oddly slower (even though its faster)
-
What kind of power figures would you guestimate your running now Gaz?
-
would be hard to say pal, I'm running stock engine cover so won't get the full benefits like some of the lads running aftermarket intakes, some of them have seen over 350bhp but then again the dyno lottery comes in to play. I would like to think a genuine 330+bhp
certainly feels like it :happy2:
-
It was that 330 mark I was expecting, fair does I bet your pretty happy with that :pomppomp:
-
You just simply cannot ignore the lure of the slippery slope Gaz
What is next on the slope agenda?
-
Just ordered the D version DV valve just to make sure, then like I said, we'll have to see how the clutch holds out
-
Nice work Gaz! :congrats:
Are you back at work yet after your op? If not I'd get back soon as your gonna be bankrupt soon!

i still havnt been in your S3, :popcornsoda:
-
just had a spin in a ibis s3 sportback that had gone stage 2+, really impressed, the delivery is so smooth and linked with the grip an awsome point to point car :happy2:
-
I was speaking to Mike yesterday and he mentioned you'd been in, said it had taken the upgrade really well and felt superb. Few days of adaptation and that new D valve.... phwoah!
-
ha, he did seem quite impressed after his test drive. I've hardly driven it since I've had my dads mk5 and I'm going away for a couple of days now, but i hope your right :happy2:
-
You getting her on the rollers @ Awesome Gaz? Look forward to seeing the results. I predict 348bhp & 355lb/ft
-
Did you have stg2 before you added the HPFP?

That would be nice, I'm still runnin stock engine cover though Ben, so that might be a bit optimistic

No went from stg1 to 2+ :happy2:

330-350 sounds very healthy, I had heard that some GIAC cars were getting 365 but hadn't frequented the Audi forums to confirm. Do you know anyone with the GIAC stage2+ on the Audi forums as its the S3 map i have to get loaded to my edition30 once i can get a suitable zorst.
-
not sure I've heard of anyone with GIAC stg2+ map Keith but will keep my eye for you, some of the Revo stg2+ S3's have made similar figures but as I'm on stock intake I don't think I'll see the full gains. Drives great on the road though :happy2:
-
geeky question gaz but has your economy dropped much??
-
yes because I've testing it
on a serious note its to early to say really pal, not done that many miles, will let you know if it makes a massive difference :happy2:
-
Mine is stage 2, mpg is unaffected if driven steadily, I see 340 miles minimum to a tank

Whats your thoughts on a suitable intake? tempted by the new ITG offering?

Whats your thoughts on a suitable intake? tempted by the new ITG offering?
Saw the ITG prototype on SteveP's car today and it looks interesting but IMO seems to have too many pieces.
Maybe the finished retail product will clean up the rough edges.

I had to say i was teeny but disappointed after the build up but as you say the final product may iron out these things helped by some feedback to them.
