Title: Mk6 (mk5 sportwagen facelift to be precise) on a mk5 - good or bad??
Post by: Polo6n1600i on July 10, 2013, 07:44:58 pm
On the hunt for new ideas while hunting etka (when I found the china Sagitar parts) I also got all the part numbers for the sportwagen facelift.

Here are pics to show what it looks like:-

All I need is:-
Front panel (radiator carrier)
Wings x2
Bonnet
Headlights
Grill
Mk6 GTi front bumper.

Recon I could do it for about £1000 inc paint if I do it with 2nd hand genuine parts??!!

Its not that easy to do apparently, the lights are a b*****d to wire in, but it does look good as I'd been thinking about it when I saw it afew months ago.

I've looked over the loom on etka - I need to buy 2 of the headlight loom repair kits and use the mk5 & mk6 looms to make up an adapter so it's all just plug and play (trained auto/audio electrician) so shouldn't cause too many issues.

Its a mk5 golf wagon front on a mk5 jetta ...as mk6 wagon is the same width as mk5 golf/jetta whereas mk6 golf is wider than mk5 golf making it a bit difficult to do
