Always thought some of the switch gear and dials in the Golf were a bit naff. Some really don't feel tactile nor reassuringly solid - for example take the climate cntrol dials and the tacky sun-glass holder.
Anyway, thought I'd try to spruce things up a bit. Still not sure if I should keep these on or not.

Yeap, but the grain is not as pronounced as on the OEM door trim strips, etc.
-
Seen similar ones somewhere with a ridged outer to make it more grippy.
But I prefer these plain ones - wouldn't mind a set in fact.

These look really good
A cheap upgrade for a change :happy2:

I have two sets, love em! :pomppomp:

You lucky fella :booty:
-
i cant get on with these im afraid
i think im the only one though
-
I also think they look cheap and nasty.
-
I think they would be ok if they were half the thickness, the proportions look all wrong to my eye.

Did you graduate from Charm school? :booty:
-
haha!
-
I also have a set of these and they do make the feel of the controls much more robust and chunky. As is usually said - they look better in the flesh :happy2:
-
They look pretty good to me ...... but to get my noney I'd like them to be a tad thinner and have the ridged outer to match the stereo controls

I've just ordered a set.
I can confirm that Deako's at least half correct - they are cheap.
The nasty part I'll have to let you know about once I've received them and tried them on the car
Either way, it looks like my first faltering step on that very slippery slope...........
-

That is all. Not a fan, sorry.

I genuinely laughed out loud at that
.....what was the question again?
-
i did when i was posting it.
Is that wrong? haha
-
The great thing is that if you don't like them you can easily remove them, and slip them on as a make-shift c*ck ring instead! :happy2:

....Funny but I didn't get on with your posting style (sometimes) at first but now I don't take it personally and respect your honesty. I'm similar to you in some respects but I possibly choose my words more diplomatically (sometimes!).
I don't like these rings either but then I don't like any of the silvery bits VW have added to the Mk6.
I think TC is right - They're a bit crude because of their thickness.

Be a bit too large me thinks..............................
Unless you are Donkey Rigged!
:scared:
-
i agree the originals need something, i would prefer something that look like the knobs on the nav unit though

I leave the diplomacy to the politicians. I have to be diplomatic every single day in IT support, errr, actually....no i dont. I take great pleasure in telling people that what they want isnt possible. :signLOL:

+1. Far too chunky to match the styling

I saw the lower ones elsewhere. Was thinking of buying them as they suit the dash much better than the other rings.

Where can I get these, and are they plastic?
