Title: How often does the AC need re gassed !
Post by: gobbleplease on July 13, 2013, 07:15:45 pm: I was wondering how often you guys usually need to re gas your AC, mines is blowing hot air at the moment
Also how much does it cost from vw roughly ?

Post by: skard on July 13, 2013, 07:35:05 pm: Find an aircon specialist, you'll find they are cheaper than KwikFit types and will actually do a proper service/vacuum.

I got mine done recently at a local VAG specialist, it was £40.

Post by: torque777 on July 13, 2013, 10:06:41 pm: Basically refresh is an aircon bomb inside and a service is a check of gas in system ..tends to be topped up ...if your lucky they will recover complete ..vac it down and then recharge it with a mixture of your old gas and there new gas ...with a sqiurt of pag 100 oil and jobs a good un ...I find every 3-4 years is worth a check ...sooner if you very rarely use aircon as oil will settle in lowest part of system and seals will go dry and leak

Mines deffo needs done Ive got every recipt from new and no air con work has been carried out so its service time.
