Turbo Upgrade !! are you trying to get me a divorce
-
should be there tomo, not run the car up the strip since feb, plus its subaru sunday so should be some good competition
been looking into the new sti spec c (lightweight version with 4.9 0-60) lately am rather tempted :ashamed:
-
they are also holding the latest round of the scoobysprint series there btw.
watch out for the anti-lagged prodrive scooby in action driven by Terry Kaby.
-
^^^^
Excellent! Dare I say cracking! bit of high quality filming there.
It looks like it eats tyres though.
I'm not sure I like the looks of the road version though without the stickers etc to hide its shape.

:sad1:
got up at 6.30 this mo to get to the pod, currently sat in kwik sh*t car park near milton keynes as managed to pick up a bolt in the front tyre drivers side just after coming of m1.
tried to pull it out but then I heard air hissing so shoved it back in and managed to drive slolwly to the tyre place.
they don't open till bloody 10, nightmare....
-
^^^^
Sorry to hear that, buddy :sad1: - Happened to me once but luckily I made it to AP Racing and they sorted me. Best never to pull it out if you're on the road.
More recently the guys at VWR spotted a bent and embedded screw in a new F1 Assym rear tyre! Gently removed and no problem.
You'll be on your way soon - Enjoy the rest of your day! :happy2:
-
well got there in the end, they fixed the tyre for £18 and seems to be fine. :happy2:
did 4 runs all together was baking hot day and strong head wind best of the day was
Reaction +.6327
60 ft - 2.7305
330 ft - 6.3670
1/8 et - 9.2609
1/m mph - 85.87
1000' et - 11.6797
1/4 et - 13.8511
1/4 mph - 106.20
was pretty pleased and beat a s4 i was up against that run by 1sec, best previous time in Feb was 14.1
got to go more often awesome fun and some impressive cars best run I saw was a white mk1 golf cage, drags and god know what under the engine went up against a mk5 r32 in that blue colour, the mk1 engine or somehtin blew up near the end of the strip and still did a 11.01 the r32 did a 15.4
-
the white mk1 is probably andy waite's
Hope its engine didn't blow up...as its a wicked bit of engineering that car!
1.8T with 8 injectors and GT30 turbo. and its 4WD.
:happy2:

Hi James,
Not a bad starter time that one. :happy2:
How were you launching?
Burnout?
I found that launching around 2.5 to 2.7k rpm was best and used manual mode + short shifted into 2nd once rolling.
Also what were your Revo settings?
Mine are B9 T6 F9
Your car specs are roughly the same as mine for power mods and so should get roughly the same kind of times.
My current best is ...
Reaction +.8327
60 ft - 2.3818
330 ft - 6.0559
1/8 et - 8.9228
1/m mph - 86.37
1000' et - 11.3097
1/4 et - 13.4556
1/4 mph - 107.03
So 0.3487 quicker to 60' is basically the launch technique and this equated to the 0.3955 difference at the end.
You need to work on your launch technique :happy2:
Any car under 14 seconds with FWD is a swift car and not many of those antique manuals have made it under 14seconds yet :innocent:
-
when My bluefin is on, i am going back to crack 14 seconds.... oh yes i will!!
Any scooby highlights james???
-
yeah i was pleased to get in the 13s, was with over 1/2 tank fuel, and no weight saving - seats and spare wheel in tact.
revo settings are B8 T7F7, slightly less aggresive but will turn the boost up as we get in to cooler weather
the start was my weak point, did a burnout before in 1st with esp off to warm tyres, then set off without using launch control in manual mode short shifting to 2nd. can't really get the hang of l/c don't use it enough but if it will get me a extra few hundreds then will practice :happy2:
subaru sprint challenge was good, only saw a few rounds as got there late and the rest of the time was spent queing for the strip, but their handling abilityand the way they drift looks amazing and really makes you want to get a rwd or 4wd next..
-
Ahh wish I could have come today!
I'm hoping to break into the 13's when I next go. My current best is 14.085 with no weight saving, and a very slow start with short shifting in 1st and 2nd!
Not bad for a lil' old GTI :P

Nice time James. :happy2: Good to see another Ed30 in the 13's. As John says, there is room for a lot of improvement there bud as a 2.7 60ft is (no offence) way down on what it can be with the right launch. But all take practise mate and a low 13 sec pass will be done with the right start..
Stage 2+ Ed 30 DSG should be capable of a 12 sec pass..
