The headlight clips/brackets on my headlights are broken so the lights don't sit flush with the surrounding panels.
I have been looking at replacement lights and the silver ones are much cheaper than the black gti ones.
If I buy a silver headlight is it possible to swap out the internal for my current black gti one?
Thanks.

You could always try a repair kit for the existing headlights. Never used or seen them in person but seems worth a punt:

It is possible to open the headlights to get to the internals although it looks to be a real pain. It involves a very careful stint in the oven and gently prying them apart (hopefully without breaking them). Here is a DIY if you fancy a try:

Good luck :happy2:

I thought about a repair kit, but I would need one for each light (£50) and I can buy a pair of used lights for this. Also debated splitting the headlights but knowing my luck, I will go though all the effort and not be able to remove the internals.
The headlights are currently silliconed in place - I didn't notice this when I brought the car and the c**t that owned it before didnt bother to tell me he had bodged it up.

Buyers beware. It's your fault for not realising they were 'bodged'
And less of the language please. :happy2:

Sorry haha
Yeah I should have noticed it really, paid the chap a £200 deposit as it was brought on fleebay, I was worried he wouldn't give it back if I didn't want the car.
