Cracked the sump on my car tonight. Engine is fine as I turned it off straight away. Anyone know how much a new one is or if mine can be fixed
-
What car is it? Did mine a few months ago
-
Including the recovery, oil change, labour and sump I paid £320 :happy2:
-
I've got the car home, it is edition 30. Bottomed out in a bumpy road traving fast

Check this (http://www.loba-motorsport.com/shop/clearance-sale/336/original-vag-2.0-tfsi-oil-sump-und-oil-level-sensor-06f103603b-06b907667?c=165) (DE) or this (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-VW-Passat-Engine-2-0T-BPY-Oil-Pan-06F-103-603-B-OEM-06-07-08-09-/130928715889?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1e7bf5a871) (USA, shipping + customs might increase final price). :happy2:

Wow you must have been unlucky to crack a sump! They sit really high out of the way!
-
Car is slow at the front, the road was like a dip and on the way up it caught the bottom. Will upload a pic in abit

Fit a TDI undertray.. :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

A metal skip pan would be better...
-
That would also work.
But the TDI undertray is £20 and offers plenty of protection and decreases noise as well so it's a win-win!

i remember having a £300+ bill from the stealers when i did one on my rocco, sump was about £70+VAT from memory

The sump is really easy to remove and refit. Do it yourself. If you don't have one already buy the Halfords professional toolkit that's normally £200 (but always up for sale for £99.99).
Even with the cost of the oil, filter, and sealant, it's cheaper than paying VW to do it and you've then invested in some tools for the future.
removing the sump is outlined here in a guide I did for changing the oil pickup.

Tfsi sumps are 130 plus vat atm. Tsi sumps are steel so I guess a bit cheaper.

Anyone got the part number for the tdi under tray. Cheers Alex for sorting me a sump out

Go to a scrappy or Ebay mate don't bother going to the dealers they would charge you around £80 (I guess)
