Title: Disapointing end to a great weekend
Post by: RENNTAG on July 21, 2013, 11:39:58 pm
Well had a great weekend; Track day followed by a BBQ wit the family on Saturday, then chilled out day today and another bbq with the girlfriend and some mates. so all was good.

Unfortunately I have now ended the weekend in a bad mood because I came back to my car to find someone has driven in to it!  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

No note left and they have even taken the time to wipe the area to remove any of their paint from the damaged area. Im hoping one of the neighbours will have seen but it was too late to knock on anyone's door tonight.

Will get pictures up tomorrow in the daylight.

Cant believe some people!

Now time to forget about it and get some sleep.

Yeah there are a couple of faint marks left from a bumper. Has not broken the paint though. The damaged area is cloudy from where someone has used something to clean their paint off the car.

just needs a new door skin...
bolt off old and on with the new.
sickening to think people can leave the scene without a guilty conscience

Door skin needed. Simple job really, there's guides on here. I got one on ebay in the correct colour, but it took about 6 months before the right one popped up. Black ones are more readily available.

You're out of pocket because of some knob. Unfortunately there are a lot of them around and they are somehow able to get a licence to 'drive'. Get her fixed!

Might be worth trying a PDR guy first as they may be able to get that back into shape! Amazing what they can do!  :happy2:

Agreed - have seen some very good results from a PDR guy near me, sorted my old mkiv perfectly.
Maybe worth a try - I think the dent in yours can be sorted, but I worry that the plastic trim is beyond repair...
Faceless scrotes that do this stuff...

Thanks TC, and thanks for the advise greeners. There is a good body shop nearby and the owner is into VW transporters so think he will give me some good advice

Definitely try PDR first. The majority of that dent will pop back out easily, and then the minor creases can be worked out.
