Hey people,
I am trying to sell my car but havent even had a nudge on it. Were do you find most successfull for selling up? I have my car on 3 VAG forums, Pistonheads and Gumtree. Do people find Autotrader any good, i just dont know if its worth the £35 for a 2 weeks posting.
Any tips on selling would be appreciated aswell.

Is it priced right? The price you want for it might not be what the public wants to pay for it.

I hope it is priced correctly, ive gone by alot of ads that are already on the likes of autotrader, pistonheads etc.

Autotrader never fails to sell car such as yours, anyone who says not to use AT is being a tightarse. Just put £50 on the advert if that bothered.
My GT TDI sold within hours last October, I think if you are comparing it to ads that have been up for a week or two then they may be a tad overpriced.
Stick it on AT though :happy2:

I think ill jump on ur advice and just put my hand in my pocket and try the three weeks on Autotrader for £45.00. Hopefully it goes soon.

My Edition 30 was on Autotrader and Ebay and sold within 8 days at £200 under advertised price ;-)
Depends on the car/colour/spec how quick they would sell.

If they do an "advertise till sold" fee , i would do that :innocent:

Unfortunetly they dont. Only have a "Ultimate Package" Which is 6 weeks website, 6 weeks mobile and 6 weeks mobile advantage for £56

I'd go for eBay. Most of my cars I've sold in the past went through eBay. I feel it gets the most views and is the best value for money.

Autotrader every time for me. Sold my last Mk5 GTI in 2 days. I was also hunting for an Eddy for 6 months, saw the one I eventually bought on Autotrader, had only been listed a few hours before I bagged it.
Whatever the maximum is, PAY IT! :happy2:

Look's like mine will be on there as soon as the exterior mod's are off!It will be a mega bargain for someone!

Bit pricey in my opinion.

Ive put it on autotrader now so fingers crossed.

Always had good success with pistonheads myself

In my mind disels normally sell better in a 5 door, if I were going to swap from a GTI to a TDI I would look for a 5 door as it i sa sensible car. Also the DPF on the 170bhp can be a nightmare. Wheels are not standard and there is no climate control.

As I mentioned above, my 3dr sold in hours on a Sunday morning, and to be honest could have sold 5 times over that week.

Sold the car through autotrader. Thanks for all the help and advice guys.

Happy days, AT is by far the best way to sell a car :happy2:

It just shows spending that little bit of money to sell a car pays off
