Title: RSN 510 battery back up unit ???

Hi guys

I'm thinking of buying an RSN 510 my mate has this unit in his golf & says it needs a battery back up unit ???

If he doesn't drive his car for a day the headunit drains his battery out...

I'm a bit confused what is the battery back up & where can I get one from if I need one... :confused:

I suspect your friend has an older Pre L version canbus gateway that causes battery drain with the rns510. Upgrading the canbus gateway will solve his problem.
Your ed30 may already have a suitable canbus gateway and not need upgrading.

Iv sold the ED30 I want to fit this in a 56 reg MK5 R32

Would it be ok in the R32 ..
