a 2004 golf gti im hoping to buy, ive been told has 10 stamps in the book would that make it full service history or.....?

That's 10 in 9 years. If genuine, I'd be more than happy with that. :happy2:

Ring the dealer that has stamped the book to see if they have it on record as actually doing the service... "stamps" in books mean nothing, Unless you have the receipt as well

Check what the visits actually included too. If they were all just a basic oil and filter change then that's not the best service history...
Have a look to see whether the DSG oil has been changed if it's an auto and then brake fluid too plus obvious things like the cambelt.
Like the others said, phone the dealer too and check they have actually got the records of the car as replica stamps are pretty easy to buy on ebay!

Don't just trust the dealer. Ring VW customer services.
I bought a Mk6 Golf GT TDI last month with a supposed full vw service history. It had 4 stamps from the same VW dealer but after checking with VW the stamps were fake as the main dealer had another garage and he let them use the main dealer stamp.
I have the head of VWUK supposedly looking into it as well as Trading Standards.

Knowing what a "dealer" service history is I would rather have history from an independent garage
