Post by: Ducky76 on July 30, 2013, 10:36:00 am
Hi I be just bought some jom coil overs and now wishing Ide spent 3 times as much , well I've fitted them and the fronts are as high as they can go and I can still only just fit my fingers up 2 the knuckle in the arch gap on 19 thou , but I've had 2 do the arch mod 2 stop rubbing they're so low?!?! Anyone else got this problem??
Cheers andy

First I've ever heard of this with jom's. Out of all the cheap coilovers there are normally the ones that wont go low at all, I ran a set on my gti for a couple of weeks while I waited for my new coilovers after the air ride and they were almost wound all the way down and had a coil cut off them and they weren't really low.

Do you have any pics of them fitted? like the strut itself not the whole car?

No no pics , but the collar is wound right 2 the top and I've 15 mm gat but can wind down 80mm ?  It would be low as hell

Sounds odd, my mate had these same coilovers on his jetta and his wouldn't go low enough to tuck tire on 19's. I don't know what else to suggest without seeing pics.

The shocks  look fitted correct 2 me but I'm no mechanic they look dearer right in the wishbone bit and top mount looks right 2 me !?  I've been in touch with awsome where I got the kit from and the springs have the  correct code on them so I've taken several photos and sent them they are going 2 talk 2 Jom and get back 2 me
