We've just bought a couple of kayaks and need a way of transporting them. We have a few options, one of which is on the roof of my car. I have a few questions...
My car has no gutter rails so how does the roof rack fit on? It's a three-door model. Any body got any pics of roof bars/roof rack on a three door Mk 5? Specifically with kayaks on?
What's the best way of transporting kayaks? Stood up on their side? Is there any specific fittings or bars I need to be able to do this? I think they weigh around 18kg each and are both 11' long.

It'll only do one though

Thanks. Yeh, I looked there first. Need it to transport two though.
Currently investigating Thule bars. I think I need:
- 754 foot pack
- 769 standard bars
- 1323 fitting kit
- 520-1 Kayak stacker

Keep out of any low car parks on the way
