Evenin'
I just picked up my new 2008 GT Sport Diesel 140 to replace my rather thirsty (in my job) GTI, its alright...not a nice as my massively spec'd up GTI Ive had to sell :sad1: but needs must and all that...
So anyway now I can set about making the GT Sport..better. I know I want to upgrade the wheels, most likely to some BBS CH's that will all come next month but as for the first job, im going to set about getting the stance right on the standard rims. Im thinking just springs as I don't have a bottomless pit of money but I cant find any that lower more than 30mm this just doesn't seem enough to me given the arch gap that is present.
Do we know of any that lower slightly more?
Also I noticed that for the last 2 years there has been an MOT advisory that one of the shocks is 'misting' not leaking but misting oil, is this something that would become more of a concern after the drop?

I've fitted eibach pro sport springs which are -30mm but you could go for eibach sport lines which are -50mm/-40mm front/rear I personally would think of changing the pair if one is starting to mist ...as it will only get worse in time ..and if your pulling it all apart you only want to do it once really ...I would either fit gt/gti dampers or if you can afford it fit bilstein ...you could always go for the b12 kit ..bilstein dampers and eibach springs ...just a thought

I had h&r springs. Have a look on my build thread to give you an idea of one lowered

I had H&R springs on my GTI which give a great low :happy2:
Apex -40mm springs are the lowest IIRC. Can't comment on ride quality though. Lowering springs will significantly shorten the life of your shock absorbers though :scared:
I'm now riding on AP coilovers which I'm really impressed with :notworthy:
